CLASSES 12 Metre (all divisions); 8 Metre (all divisions): After your registration with the official entry form, yachts will be assigned for appropriate prices / trophies by Organizing Authority. A division established according to the trophies of each class consists of minimum of 3 yachts. In case of fewer yachts being registered the Organizing Authority may score divisions together.

REGISTRATION The registration shall be completed at the Race Office no later than 18.00 hrs on 28 June 2011. Each competitor shall: - Have paid the entry fee - Fill in the responsibility disclaimer - Submit a valid measurement certificate - Submit the completed measurement inspection form which you will receive by the event measurer - Submit the crew list with the names of each crew member

SCHEDULE RACES 29 June – 3 July 2011: Up to 3 races each day in accordance with the championship rules of each class. The Robbe & Berking 12 Metre World Championships consists of a maximum number of nine races, as well as the Robbe & Berking 8 Metre World Championship.

FIRST / LAST START SIGNAL 29 June 2011: 12.00 hrs / 3 July 2011: 14.00 hrs

RACING AREA Courses will be sailed on the Inner Flensburg Fjord. The Race Committee has got the option to sail some of the races at Flensburg Outer Fjord if wind and weather conditions require this change of racing area. Please find the racing area online on www.rolex-baltic-week.com.

FORMAT Windward/Leeward courses. Due to wind and weatherconditions the Race Committee may change format. Changes will be published on the official Notice Board.

BUOYANCY All yachts shall carry one personal flotation device for each crew member on board which is in good conditon. Attention is drawn to (RRS) fundamental Rule 1.2.

RACE OFFICE The Race Office will be located inside the clubhouse at Glücksburg (FSC). It will be open daily from 28 June - 3 July 2011 at 9:00 hrs.

CREW DISCLAIMER AND All crews will be required to sign the Crew Disclaimer / Media Waiver upon registration at the RaceMEDIA WAIVER Office in Glücksburg until the closing of registration. Crew Disclaimer / Media Waiver may be viewed in advanced on the event website at www.rolex-baltic-week.com.

JURY An International Jury will be appointed in accordance with Appendix N of RRS. The names of the Jury members will be published in the Sailing Instructions or on the official Notice Board. Their decision will be final in accordance with RRS 70.5.

HAUL-OUT RESTRICTIONS/ Yachts shall not be hauled out during the regatta except with and according to the terms of prior DIVING EQUIPMENT written permission of the Organizing Authority. Underwater breathing apparatus and plastic poolsAND PLATIC POOLS or their equivalent shall not be used around keelboats between the preparatory signal of the first race and the end of the regatta.

RADIO COMMUNICATION A yacht shall neither make radio transmissions while racing nor receive radio communications not available to all boats. This restriction also applies to mobile telephones. The Race Committee will use VHF Channel 15 and 17 for information to competitors.

MOORING FOR Berthing for accompanying boats is possible at yacht harbour of the Flensburger Segel-Club as long asACCOMPANYING BOATS free boxes are available. For these boats a harbour fee is to be paid directly to the harbour master. Please make a note on the entry form in case you intend to bring an accompanying boat with you.

INSURANCE Each participating yacht shall be insured with a valid third-party insurance with the racing extension and a minimum cover of € 1,500,000 or equivalent per event.

LIMITATION OF LIABILITY - The responsibility for the decision to participate in a race or to continue with it is solely with theCOGNOVITS CLAUSE skipper; to that extent the skipper also accepts full responsibility for the crew. The skipper is responsible for the qualification and the correct nautical conduct of the crew as well as for the suitability and the transport-safe condition of the registered boat. In cases of Force Majeure or on grounds of administrative orders or for safety reasons, the organizer is entitled to make changes in the realization of the event or to cancel the event. This does not constitute any liability by the organizer towards the participant, if the reasons for the changes or the cancellation do not result from a wilful or grossly negligent behaviour of the organizer. In case of a violation of obligations that do not constitute primary or material contractual duties (cardinal obligations), the liability of the organizer for financial and property damages incurred by the participant during or in connection with the participation in the event and resulting from a conduct of the organizer, its representatives, servants or agents, is restricted to damages that were caused wilfully or grossly negligent. When a violation of cardinal obligations occurs due to minor negligence, the liability of the organizer is limited to foreseeable, typical damages. To the extent that the liability for damages of the organizer is excluded or restricted, the participant also relieves the staff - employees and representatives, agents, servants, sponsors and individuals who provide or drive salvage, safety or rescue vessels or assist with their use - from the individual liability for damages, as well as also all other individuals who were instructed to act in connection with the realization of the event. The effective racing rules of the ISAF, the administrative regulations regatta-sailing and the articles of association of the DSV, the class rules as well as the regulations of the invitation to the competition and the sailing instructions are to be complied with and are expressly recognized. German law shall prevail.LANGUAGE In a case of a language conflict the English text shall prevail.CLUBHOUSE The FSC clubhouse will serve a rich variety of meals ranging from breakfast to dinner. 1 RULESThe races will be governed by the following rules:- ISAF Racing Rules of Sailing, 2009 - 2012 (RSS)- The Equipment Rules of Sailing- The ITMA Class Rules latest edition and the interpretations there of- The ITMA Class BY-Laws & Regulations as of 1 April 2010- No national prescriptions will apply- This Notice of Race- Sailing Instructions- Up to 15 crewmembers including helmsman are allowed to be on board during a race. All yachts may register one alternative crew member on their crew list and may use this person by registering the change by 19.00 hrs at the Race Office on the day before the crew change is to take place. Any additional changes shall be subject to approval by the International Jury. - The Race Committee reserves the right to change the Program / Sailing Instructions. Changes will be posted on the official Notice Board not later than 19.00 hrs. They will be effective the next day. - RRS 44.1 and 44.2 will apply with the modifi- cation that only one turn including one tack and one gybe is required.

2 ELIGIBILITY AND ENTRY2.1 The event is open to all of the International Twelve Metre class holding a valid Certificate of Mea-surement and which completes the registration pro-cedure and has paid the Entry Fee.

2.2 The yacht must be a regular member of the ITMA who has paid the current year dues and any certifi-cate filling fees.

2.3 Each yacht shall submit its entry on the official En-try Form only. The Organizing Authority shall be au-thorised to collect the Entry Fee electronically.

2.4 Each yacht shall submit with its entry by 26 May 2011 the cover page of the valid Certificate of Mea-surement duly signed by the Class Technical Director.

3 ENTRY FEEThe Entry Fee is € 1,800. The Early Entry Fee is € 1,600. Entries received by 10 May 2011 will qualify tor this Early Entry Fee only. Both Fees include social events for 15 crew members including helmsman – see Social Events.

4 ADVERTISING AND BOW STICKERSThe association adopts ISAF Regulation 20 restricted as follows: Advertising is permitted only on the spinnaker and on both sides of the boom at the discretion of the owner. Each boat maybe required displaying event ad-vertising on the first 20% of hull length and backstay flags at any time from 28 June until 3 July. While not racing, all boats are strongly urged to fly the event flag from the forestay. Bow decals and backstay flags and event flags will be supplied by the Operating Organizer at registration. Every effort shall be made to retrain the decals on the bows.

5 MEASUREMENT5.1 All participating yachts shall be presented for mea-surement inspection before the beginning of the re-gatta. The event measurer or the Race Committee may make measurement checks before, during and after races.

5.2 Each yacht shall produce a valid measurement certif-icate at registration. In addition the owner shall submit a signed statement that no hull modifications or ballast changes which would affect the rating have been made since the last measurement.

5.3 There will be no initial measurement.

6 COURSESThe courses will be a windward/leeward configuration with a leg distance of approximately 1.3 to 1.5 nm.

7 SCORING7.1 The “Low- Point Scoring System” as per Appendix A of the RRS shall apply.

7.2 The championships shall consist of no more than nine (9) completed races. If five (5) or more races are completed one race shall be discarded.

7.3 Four (4) completed races shall be the minimum re-quired to award the Championship.

8 SPECIAL AWARDS AND PRIZES

A Rolex chronometer will be awarded to the yacht with the best overall score.

The Robbe & Berking Silver Trophy will be presented to the winning yacht of the Divisions D (Vintage) plus E (Antique) in a separate scoring table for these Divi-sions. Perpetual Trophies for the Twelve Metre Class World Championships:

Division A (Grand Prix) Azzurra Trophy (to the Club): The Yacht Club Costa Smeralda presents the Azzurra Trophy to the yacht club represented by the Division A winning yacht (permanent). Chandler Hovey Memorial Trophy (to the owner): The Chandler Hovey Memorial Trophy, presented to the Owner(s) of the Division A winning yacht (perma-nent).

Division B (Modern) The Enterprise Trophy presented to the Owner(s) of the Division B winning yacht (permanent).

Division C (Traditional) The Kennedy Cup presented to the Owner(s) of the Division C winning yacht (permanent).

Division D (Vintage) The Robert H. Tiedemann Memorial Trophypresented to the Owner(s) of the Division D winning yacht (permanent).

Point prizes will be awarded according to thefollowing scheme: Each division of up to three yachts 1 point prize. Each division of up to five yachts 2 point prizes .Each division of more then six yachts 3 point prizes. Prizes not claimed at the Prize-Giving-Ceremony will remain with the Organizing Authority.

1 RULES

1.1 The races will be governed by the following rules: - ISAF Racing Rules of Sailing, 2009-2012 (RRS) - No national prescriptions will apply - This Notice of Race - Sailing Instructions - The Rating Rule and Measurement Instructions of the International Eight Metre Class and The lnternational Eight Metre World Cup Rules will apply, except as follows:

1.2 All yachts shall carry on board the prescribed safety equipment in accordance with the yacht’s country of registry. At minimum all yachts shall carry on board at least a 15 metre length towline.

1.3 Eight Metre yachts built to the First International Rule prior to 1919 are allowed to enter the Champi-onship without a valid measurement certificate but are excluded from the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place for both the World Cup and the Sira Cup prizes.

1.4 Classic yachts designed prior to January 1960 with no hull modification as defined by IEMA are per-mitted a maximum measurement of 8.07 metres, us-ing the rating formula of the Class Rule. Such yachts shall have otherwise valid measurement certificates. The owners shall submit a signed statement that no hull modification or ballast changes which would af-fect the rating have been made since the last mea-surement.

1.5 The maximum number of crew may be increased to seven for all yachts designed prior to 1960. All yachts shall be required to declare their number of crew and the names at registration and shall sail with that crew throughout the regatta. All yachts may reg-ister one alternative crew member on their crew list and may use this person by registering the change by 19.00 hrs at the Race Office on the day before the crew change is to take place. Any additional changes shall be subject to approval by the International Jury.

1.6 The Race Committee reserves the right to changethe Program / Sailing Instructions. Changes will be posted on the official Notice Board not later than 19.00 hrs. They will be effective the next day.

1.7 RRS 44.1 and 44.2 will apply with the modification that only one turn including one tack and one gybe is required.

3 ENTRY FEE

The Entry Fee is € 1,250. The Early Entry Fee is € 1,000. Entries received by 10 May 2011 will qualify tor this Early Entry Fee only. Both Fees include social events for helmsman and crew members – see Social Events.

4 ADVERTISING AND BOW STICKERS

The restrictions set out in Class Rule 36 apply, no ad-vertising on mainsail and genoa.Advertising according to ISAF Regulation 20 apply.Each boat maybe required to display event advertis-ing on the first 20% of hull length and backstay flags at any time from 28 June until 3 July. 6 COURSESThe courses will be a windward-leeward configuration with a leg distance of approximately 1.25 - 1.30 nm. This alters the World Cup rules. The total length of course will be approximately 7.5 - 8.0 nm.

7 SCORING7.1 The “Low- Point Scoring System” as per Appendix A, of the RRS shall apply.

7.2 Five (5) races are required to be completed to consti-tute a valid championship.

7.3 When only 5 races or less have been completed a boats series score will be the total of her race scores. When from 6 to 9 races have been completed a boats series score will be in total of her race scores excluding her worst score.

8 SPECIAL AWARDS AND PRIZESPrizes will be given as follows:

8.1 A Rolex chronometer will be awarded to the yacht with the best overall score.

8.2 THE ROBBE & BERKING SILVER TROPHY will be awarded to the winning yacht of a classic division formd out of all yachts which are eligible to compete for the cups listed under Notice of Race 8.4, 8.5 and 8.6.

8.3. THE INTERNATIONAL EIGHT METRE WORLD CUP will be awarded to the yacht with the best overall score in the World Championship.

8.4 THE SIRA CUP will be awarded to the yacht built prior to 1960 conforming to the SIRA CUP Deed of Gift and rules with the best result in the overall score of the World Championship.

8.5 THE NEPTUNE TROPHYYachts competing for this trophy need to adhere to the Rules and Deed of Gift. Eligible yachts will be scored in the overall scoring and the trophy will be awarded to the yacht with the best score in a separate scoring table for this category.

Should a discard apply in the overall scoring, a discard will also apply in the best separate table.

8.6 THE MACKINAC CENTENNIAL Eight Metre Trophy will be open to yachts constructed between 1967 and 1996 which have had no modification to the hull, keel or rudder after 1990. Eligible yachts will be scored in the overall scoring and the trophy will be awarded to the yacht with the best score in a separate scoring table for this category. Should a discard apply in the overall scor-ing, a discard will also apply in this separate table.

8.7 THE FIRST RULE CUP will be awarded to the yacht built between 1908 and 1919 to the first international Rating Rule with the best overall scoring after taking the race results of this division as a seperate low point scor-ing table. Should a discard apply in the overall scoring, a discard will also apply in the FIRST RUlE CUPE Scoring.

8.8 There will be additional prizes such as traditional prize flags and other prizes awarded to the first, second and third placed yachts in all above mentioned divisions of the regatta series.

Prizes not claimed at the Prize-Giving-Ceremony will re-main with the Organizing Authority.
