Tour Stop Descriptions Stop 1 - Tanger. This sculpture depicts an oysterman using a tong to harvest oysters. It is located at the bulkhead of Bayside Landing Park. On the east side of the park is a public pool and bathhouse. The bulkhead between red marker 12 and 14 is free temporary boat dockage. Stop by the River Rock Outdoor Store to claim your token. Stop 2 - Sailing Emporium Crabber Sculpture. Stop by the Cat's Paw to receive your token. Stop 3 - Blue Heron Pier. This observation deck was built by xxxxx. It offers a magnificent view of tidal wetlands with the anchorages of Swan Creek beyond. The patient observer will see swans, herons/ osprey / ducks/ etc. etc. Stop 4 - Waterman's Museum. This is 1 of 9 museums in Kent County and 1 of 3 in Rock Hall. The museum honors the role of waterman in the heritage of Maryland's Eastern Shore. To the west of the museum notice a life size carving of a mast climber. Just a bit further/ stop by the Ditty Bag marina shop to receive your token. Stop 5 - Rock Hall Museum. Receive your token here or at the Town Clerk's counter. Stop 6 - Waterman House. On the corner of Rock Hall Avenue and Main Street is a floating fishing house dedicated to Stanley B. Vansant. At it's inception, this location was called Rock Hall Crossroads. Today we use our famous "flashing light" as a navigation point to give directions to visitors. Also on this site is a historic marker for Captain Lambert Wicks. Visit Rock Hall Properties to request your token. Stop 7 - Old Gratitude House. Stop by and visit with the B&B's mascot, Mikie to receive your token. Stop 8 - Moon Light Bay B&B. This location was a stop on the Chesapeake ferry route. One ferryboat on that route was the Gratitude that ran until 1950 when the ferry route was replaced by the Chesapeake Bay Bridge. Stop by the office to receive your token. Stop 9 - Sunken Ship at Gratitude Marina. Talk about the wreck, Strawberry Factory and the public landing. Stop by the Gratitude Marina office to receive our token. Stop 10 - Ed's Bra Museum. Get info from Ed and Robin. Stop 11 - Captain xx Inn at the Haven': Check with Bill B.rauner about the history and tokens. \- Stop 12 - People Bank. In DATE,this building housed Pebples Bank. Describe the history of the scrollwork gate and th~ architectural decorations. Talk about dog friendly eating? Stop by the counter and request you token. Stop 13 - Durdings Store, In Date was the town drug store. Today it is the best old-fashioned ice cream pallor in Maryland. Fountain treats/ baked goods/ Hallmark cards and great gifts/ Yankee candles and fabulous hand dipped ice cream in especially selected flavors, Receive your token at the counter. Stop 14 - Ferry Park. This large public beach is right on 'the Bay but offers bathing protected by breakwater. The south side of the park offers Gazebos and barbecue pits as well as the preserved Red Buoy Number 6. Describe it's significance. Visitors from throughout the county come to view the sunsets from this location. The expansive vista includes Kent Island and the Chesapeake Bay Bridge to the south and Baltimore and the Francis Scott Key Bridge to the north. This is the landing site of the Pirate Gravbeard and a flotilla of oirate dinahies durina Touring Rock Hall Sunset over Rock Hall Beach at Ferry Park Become famous in Rock Hall by visiting all stops on a tour route and collecting a token for each stop. Each completed tour will be awarded a photo with the mayor published in the Rock Hall Wave and a major award from the Rock Hall Business Association.
