Robots are changing the world! You are the engineer programming your robot to save the day. Participants will work together to design and build the ultimate underwater vessel as you explore current marine science events with NASA images such as the earthquake in Japan, Deep Water Horizon oil spill, and coral reef bleaching. Program your robot to: Make a peanut butter and jelly sandwich; Use sensors to detect and pick up simulated objects in the oil spill; Use gears to increase or decrease the speed of the robot; Create a robot that can rescue a distressed swimmer. CAMP REQUIREMENTS Campers must be: Rising 9th and 10th grade students DOCUMENTATION NEEDED Behavior Agreement Behavior agreements will be due the first day of camp in order to complete your child’s registration. You will receive a copy of our behavior agreement to be read and signed by you and your child in your selection letter. You are welcome to download and fax your signed behavior agreement at any time. Attention to: Margaret Baguio Fax: 512-471-3585 Immunization Records All campers must have a record of their immunizations (including date of last tetanus shot) and record of all allergies on file on or before their first day of camp. Payment Plan Camp cost is $300 for the week which includes snacks and lunch. Applicants will be notified if the camp becomes full and may request to be added to the wait list in the event of a cancellation. The cancellation policy applies to paying in full or using the payment plan. See cancellation policy. Payment plans are available on the FULL PRICE of camp ONLY ($300) regardless of when you register. Upon registering a $100 deposit is due to reserve your space. Two additional payments of $100 each can be paid from the day registered until June 5. The full $300 is due on or before June 10 to secure your reserved space. Cancellation Policy Camp fees include a $50 non-refundable fee. Refunds are given in the event of cancellations before June 10, 2011 Camps that do not fill are subject to cancellation and full refund. A limited number of scholarships are available for families in need of financial assistance. Scholarships are awarded on a case-by- case basis. Criteria include but are not limited to: • Family Income • Number of persons living on income • Employment status • Special individual/family circumstances Check the box on the application and a scholarship application will be sent to you. The form, shot records, and proof of income must be submitted BEFORE May 31, 2011. Scholarship applications will be reviewed by a committee after the June 10 deadline.
