Program help and support
Whoever said, “science, technology, engineering, and math
can’t be fun”, never played with robots. Not an expert in
robotics? Don’t worry, we’ve got you covered. That’s why
we’re here. At STAX Education we are “programmed” for
fun and your family, school, or organization can be too!
Our vision is to create collaborative communities dedicated
to inspire the next generation of innovative problem
solvers.
STAX will help you create a customized and sustainable ro-
botics program through a collection of courses and experi-
ences designed to ENGAGE, EDUCATE, and EMPOWER
adults and children. Whether parent or teacher, profes-
sional or hobbyist, school or youth organization, STAX can
develop a customized plan to help implement a successful
and sustainable robotics program that meets your individu-
al needs.

Workshop Descriptions
Engage Series – create a sense of wonder
Robotics Program Demonstration
The best way for your organization and community to understand
robotics and your robotics program is to hold a robotics demonstra-
tion. You will be able to let everyone feel the excitement and imag-
ine the possibilities. The East Valley Robotics Academy can help you
plan, organize, and run this event.
Robotics Program Jump Start
Get your group “geared” up with a mini robotics event! We provide
instruction and equipment for 20 to 40 children and adults. Partici-
pants will work in teams to develop a strategy and build a robot
from a VEX IQ kit based on the provided game , culminating in a
collaborative robotics challenge on the final day.
Educate Series – offer experiences to gain knowledge
Robotics Program: Organizational Excellence
A robotics program is more than just teachers, classrooms, robots,
and competitions. There are four powerful pillars for creating a
dynamic Robotics Program: Leadership Excellence, Meaningful
Experiences, Superior Service, and Sustainability & Legacy. Together
these pillars create a culture of common purpose, mutual support,
innovation, and collaboration that will inspire for years to come.
Throughout this course, you gain insight into the strategies used to
produce a strong foundation and processes for sustained excel-
lence.
Robotics and Engineering Institute
This workshop focuses on learning how to incorporate various
robotics experiences into the project based learning class-
room. Participants will explore robotics using VEX IQ, engineering
principles using Hexbugs and GoldieBlox, and programming using
Ozobots, Dash and Dot, Puzzlets, and more.
Introduction to Robotics
Interested in sharing robotics with others but feeling over-
whelmed? We’ll break it all down in this “Back to Basics” course.
Would you like to “play” with the robotics kits learn more about
various robotics opportunities before you make your deci-
sion? What is the between VEX IQ and VEX? Gain insight into the
world of elementary school, middle school, and high school
robotics. Learn how to create your own robotics teams.
Robotics Coaching Clinic- Got Bots. Now What?
You’ve got a kit, and a team. Now what you need is some direction.
We’ve got a course for that. In our Robotics Coaching Clinic, you will
learn how to prepare your team for VEX IQ/VEX Robotics Challeng-
es. The Robotics Coaching Clinic is perfect for schools and teams
who would like to acquire a better understanding of all the major
aspects of a VEX IQ or VEX Robotics Challenge and how to prepare
for them.
VEX IQ Robotics Programming 101
Have you tried programming your robot but are still not having
much luck? The VEX IQ Robotics Programming 101 workshop
would be a great introduction to the programming a VEX IQ
robot. This clinic is for teams who are new to or have very limited
VEX IQ robotics experience.
VEX IQ Mechanical Design 101
Have you been working with your VEX IQ Robotics system for a
while but are still a little frustrated? This course is designed for
teams that would like additional help moving beyond the basic
robot claw bot with simple upright and arm. This clinic is for teams
who are new to or have very limited robotics experience.
Empower Series – provide tools for sustainability
Robotics Program Marketing
A major requirement for sustained long-term success of any
robotics program is presence of a systematized marketing plan. This
course will help you gain a deeper understanding of your organiza-
tion and help you develop systems to help you market your
program to attract the right student members, adults mentors, and
business sponsors.
Creating Robotics Clubs and Camps
Creating Robotics Clubs and Camps is professional development
PLUS. In this adult and child workshop students will be able to
learn robotics and engineering principles, teamwork, and problem
solving skills while taking part in a robotics sporting event while
adults learn how to host their own robotics camps and clubs in the
future.
Youth Robotics League Creation
Just imagine. You’re 12 years’ old. Robotics and engineering are
your passion but there is no place for you to go. Want to help... this
one day workshop would be a good place to start. You will learn about the
VEX and VEX IQ Robotics Competition and league system, have a chance
to explore the VEX and VEX IQ robotics kits, and to network with other
people who would like to create youth robotics leagues so every child can
chase their dream while being a member of a team.
