English

In English we have been looking at

stories with familiar settings. We

have practised using speech marks

in our writing.

We all really enjoyed listening to the

story The Sheep Pig by Dick King

Smith, even though there was a

really sad part.

In Maths we have been place value and thinking about standard

and non standard partitioning using manipulatives, such as

multibase and place value counters.

We have also been looking at data handling linked to Geography.

During dance we have been

exploring unison, we have

worked well in our groups

listening and sharing ideas.

We have been very busy exploring levers and

linkages. At first we found it challenging to work

out which way the levers would move. However

once we made a few different types we became

better at working this out and creating our own

pieces.

Design Technology

We have been learning about Pentecost and how the

Christian Church began. We enjoyed going to visit the

church and identify some of the symbols we have been

leaning about.

PSE

We reminded ourselves of the Golden Rules and

discussed why they are important and how to keep safe.

We focused on ourselves and how we are all unique and

how families are all different.

We have been exploring what Ewell was like 100 years ago.

We visited the War Memorial by the Dog Gate at Bourne Hall to see the memorial to commemorate all

the soldiers that died in the First World War.

It was a very sunny experience!

History

We have been looking at the key features of Ewell and exploring how Ewell has changed over time.

While we were at the War Memorial we conducted a traffic survey and compared how busy the traffic

on the High Street was to how busy the traffic was on West Street.

Music

We have been busy creating a performance piece to

share with others. We have learnt an R and B song. We

explored layering the song with different sounds and

learnt how to play the Glockenspiel to the song. We then

put this altogether to create a performance piece.
