ROBERT kOCH Heinrich Hermann Robert Koch was born in Clausthal,

Germany.

He was born on 11 December 1843 and died in Baden-Baden on May 27, 1910.

Koch was the first to demonstrate that bacteria can cause disease in living creatures.

For his discoveries and studies he is considered the “Father of

Bacteriology”.

His major discovery was in 1882 when he discovered the bacillus that causes tuberculosis (bacillus-of-Koch).

Thanks to this, he was awarded the Nobel Prize in Medicine in 1905.
