Welcome to the Di Blasi R30. A revelation in lightweight and compact mobility scooter design

The decision to have large wheels was made to provide high ground clearance and a low centre of gravity which ensures better stability when you’re driving across different terrain. It’s also extremely manoeuvrable and has a tight turning circle.

It is equipped with an easy to charge ultra-lightweight lithium battery which only adds to the portability of this scooter.

Basically, the Di Blasi R30 is perfect to use every day, or for the person who’s always on the move. The collapsible design makes it ideal to be carried onto airplanes, trains, coaches and cruise ships.

Don’t believe us? Read on to see how the Di Blasi R30 can make your life easier…

By road... by rail... by sea... by air Absolutely nothing will be off limits with the Di Blasi R30...You’ll literally be able to drive into a shopping centre, navigate your way through the busy crowds, then if you come across an escalator - just collapse the Di Blasi R30 and take it to the top with you.

Onwards with the seamless shopping experience!

If you’re taking the Di Blasi R30 to an airport, there’s no need to worry about lifting heavy parts. Just ride the Di Blasi R30 all the way to the plane where it will be placed

in the hold, or use the integrated handle to pull it like a suitcase - well that’s what most people are doing at an airport, right?

It’s also small enough to take on a long or short cruise. Whatever you decide, the Di Blasi R30 is compact enough to store in your cabin - so you’ll always have it to hand.

The Di Blasi R30 is manufactured on the beautiful Italian island of Sicily. The vibrancy of this part of the world is captured within the sleek design, making the Di Blasi R30 different from many other mobility scooters on the market. The inspiration surely comes from the sun, mountains, and crystal clear water!

Available in three colours: Red, blue, and gun metal grey. The Di Blasi R30 is the UK’s first fully automatic folding mobility scooter. To save you the time and effort of pulling levers or unfastening clips, simply press a button on the side and watch the scooter unfold in seconds.

When you’ve finished your journey, press the button again and the Di Blasi R30 will fold down to the size of a suitcase. Once folded, it’s easy to store away in a small space or car boot.

That’s the beautiful thing about the Di Blasi R30. It’s instantly ready as a fully working mobility scooter. Just sit back, turn the twist grip, and away you go!

Automatically folds in seconds to the size of a suitcase

Unrivalled PortabilityCompact, effortless, folds in secondsThe Di Blasi R30 folds in under 10 seconds. Simply hold the green button and watch it unfold ready for use. When finished hold the red button and within seconds your Di Blasi R30 can be stored away or pulled along using the integrated handle.

The Di Blasi R30 gives you the flexibility other scooters cannot offer. Its unique folding mechanism and compact design makes this the ideal companion for every day use or to take on your travels.

It just gets easier! The Di Blasi Car Hoist works just the same as the Di Blasi R30; press a button and the advanced mechanism will lift your Di Blasi R30 effortlessly in-and-out of your car boot.

The HoistThe great thing about the Di Blasi R30 Car Hoist is that the strong and powerful frame can be easily moved from car to car with no permanent fixings required.

Approved for Flight Transportation

It has been designed with your convenience in mind. The steel frame provides maximum strength, but still leaves enough space in your car boot for the important things - like shopping or your luggage!

Once the Di Blasi R30 is inside your car boot, it stays attached to the frame, remaining secure for your journey.

Another excellent feature is that the electric hoist will work off the power of your Di Blasi battery or if you prefer you can connect to the car battery instead!

The Hoist is straightforward to install and easily removed when not in use. It takes the stress and strain out of your day - leaving you to channel your energy on the things that matter!

Cruise freedom with Mobility at Sea

W ith 1.9 million holidaymakers from the UK and Ireland choosing an ocean cruise, 2016 was a record-breaking

year for the cruise industry. It’s easy to see why, with spectacular views of the Mediterranean or the Norwegian Fjords available from your balcony; not to mention the plethora of on board entertainment and tasty cuisine.

In the past, cruising with a disability hasn’t been easy. This comes down to the limited number of ‘disabled’ cabins and lack of suitable mobility equipment kept on board by cruise providers, often forcing people to book way in advance or left disappointed with the items provided.

Changing perceptionsFortunately, the industry has experienced a rapid change. For customers with limited mobility, booking years in advance isn’t

something they particularly want to do. “People need more flexibility without the worry of whether they’ll be able to reserve an accessible cabin on any given cruise,” says Marcus Hart, manager at Mobility at Sea. “Thanks to us, it’s now possible to make a standard cabin more accessible for those with a disability.”

Of course, it does depend on many factors. Every cruise ship will have different size cabins and each person different levels of disability, which will determine the amount of equipment needed. “This always needs to be fully assessed on a case-by-case basis,” continues Marcus.

The Mobility at Sea maxim boldly states that they are “valued by their customers” and “trusted by their cruise partners.” This statement seems plausible as the company has enjoyed year-on-year growth since their launch in 2012.

“Due to the nature of the business

we’re often able to form lifelong relationships with our customers; they begin to trust that as their mobility deteriorates – Mobility at Sea will find a solution to allow them to continue cruising in comfort,” confirms general manager Alison Smith.

Based in Waterlooville, most of Mobility at Sea’s equipment is supplied to customers embarking from Southampton. The range of mobility solutions that they can provide includes toileting solutions, shower stools, profiling beds, scooters and wheelchairs to highlight a few. The portfolio of equipment allows the team to provide real and usable solutions.

but am so pleased that I did. It made such a difference to our holiday as I could venture much further than I could have walked. If you are considering using a scooter on a cruise then I suggest you contact Mobility at Sea without delay – an excellent service!”

Mobility at Sea has proven that clients with reduced mobility want to cruise on a regular basis and with their help continue to do so in style. Any referral to Mobility at Sea results in the client having greater confidence in the travel agent and more cruises being booked. •

on board, agents can be safe in the knowledge that their clients experience a comfortable and enjoyable cruise.

“Cruise providers and travel agents alike recognised a huge demand in enquiries for the less able and elderly passengers who wanted to remain brand loyal and book regular cruises,” explains Alison. “So, working together with us enabled more cruises to be booked, resulting in a happy customer and repeat business for the agent and the cruise provider.”

Mobility at Sea are on hand to provide expert advice to help travel agents make cruising more accessible for their clients. This can be done through face-to-face or over the phone training sessions.

Great relationships with providers Mobility at Sea has an impressive portfolio which is continually growing. In fact, they are the preferred supplier of mobility

equipment for the luxury cruise providers Cunard and P&O. Their portfolio also includes Royal Caribbean, Princess Cruise Lines, Celebrity and CMV.

A huge part of that success is built on trust with the cruise lines. There are strict regulations which all mobility equipment must meet. “It is the attention to detail and enthusiasm to provide the highest level of service for our clients that has helped develop trust with our cruise partners,” says Alison, “as we ensure that all our equipment is suitable for, and compliant with regulations.”

Satisfied customers You only need to read the testimonials on the Mobility at Sea website to realise that the business model has made a difference to many customers’ lives. One writes, “I was initially rather dubious about hiring a scooter as I had never used one before,

to trust that as their mobility deteriorates"

PROBLEMS AND SOLUTIONS

Problem One of the biggest issues that clients face is having to book an accessible cabin with P&O or Cunard when all they need is a scooter to get around the ship and for excursions. In some cases, the customer must wait for the right cabin or book years in advance. Solution To solve this problem, Mobility at Sea sourced a compliant motorised wheelchair that is accepted in any cabin and takes a user weight of up to 15 stone. Problem Clients with greater needs don’t feel that they can enjoy a longer cruise as the equipment provided by the cruise line is restricted. Solution After a verbal assessment, Mobility at Sea can recommend products which are easy to use and often similar to those used at home. Additions like profiling nursing beds have helped when trying to create a “home away from home” experience. It’s also been proven to help clients cruise for longer and feel more comfortable. Problem Cruising is often promoted as a family holiday and marketing can often alienate the older generation or the less able. They do not want to be a burden or feel embarrassed with the equipment and extra help they require. Solution Mobility at Sea delivers all equipment into the cabins and will set it up ready for the arrival of the client. The products are installed so the client has their independence and feels confident in tasks such as toileting and balance.
