Coordinator – Delaware Transitions to Teaching Partnership (DT3P) January 2012 toUniversity of Delaware Present
Responsible for all aspects of five year approximately $1,100,000 federal grant designed to recruit and support highly-qualified professionals who wish to switch careers and teach math, science, English, and engineering/technology, world languages, and special education, in high-needs secondary schools.
Accomplishments:
Work with curriculum team of faculty, public school, and state representatives to develop and present a series of summer workshops designed to prepare candidates for new career in teaching; co-teach workshops; work with project evaluator to create procedures to monitor student participation, work product, and attendance; analyze feedback to modify curriculum.
Develop screening protocols to interview and identify potential teachers with the Haberman screening instrument; recruit and supervise project coaches who support teachers; monitor project teacher’s compliance with state requirements for certification and school polices; interface with school administrators and coaches to support teachers.
Co-teach EDUC749, Teaching Methods for Secondary Classroom. Create and maintain Wordpress website utilizing Google Analytics; analyze data cited in grant reports.
Integrate social media platforms including Twitter; currently helping to implement new data software to track student field placements - Taskstream.
Responsible for all reports to the U.S. Department of Education. Represent the University of the monthly meeting of School District Human Resource Officers. Work with Regional Director for Troops to Teachers to recruit and support active and retired veterans;
represent UD at Delaware Joining Forces bi-monthly meetings to disseminate information and coordinate support; attend recruiting events such as Delaware Congressional Delegation Job Fairs.

Responsible for securing placements in local schools for all education students from early childhood to high school each year. Served as a point of contact for school administration and faculty.
Accomplishments:
Placed and monitored approximately 1500 education students in a variety of settings each year throughout Delaware and surrounding states in schools and other programs such as the Boys and Girls Club.
Interfaced with district personnel from classroom teachers to superintendents to resolve questions regarding placements; represented the University at district and state meetings.
Created first set of protocols requiring student teachers to undergo criminal background checks. Counseled students with criminal records. Helped implement the University of Delaware Professionalism Policy for Educators (Dispositions); worked with faculty and educators to address student behavior; attended Dispositions Hearings to ensure compliance with policy.
Addressed classes and large groups on expectations for dress and behavior each semester; counseled students on issues involving schedules, transportation, behavior, and criminal records.
Created and maintained the Clinical Studies website. Responsible for the collection and reporting data for a variety of areas such as student teaching
evaluations, dispositions, demographics, and surveys through a variety of instruments including Qualtrics.
Helped plan and implement training for teachers and clinical faculty who work with teacher candidates. Advancement via Individual Achievement (A.V.I.D.) Partnership with Christina School District: Helped
to successfully create a partnership that to date has sent hundreds of UD students as tutors to assist middle and high school students.
