Time Out Internet Access Control Server

The Time Out Internet Access Control Server is specially

designed to support the needs of visitor based networks and ensures the restrictions put in place for open internet access are adhered to.

There is great potential for exploitation of internet access without security and adequate controls. Any excess data charges created by malicious or over usage of internet downloads will be the responsibility of the business. As such this area of protection needs particular attention.

The Time Out Internet Access Control Server provides a number of customisable services including the provisioning of a login page for users.

An easy way to manage free wifi in the rooms of your complex is to set up a room number and unique password for every room in Time Out Internet. This feature allows you to allocate and amount of data for free, every day, per room that renews at the same time every day. Five people or five devices can log on at the same time using these login details and share the amount of daily allowable data. Once the amount of data is used, they will not be able to access the internet. A template of the voucher below is provided and customisable so you can include the following: •Your logo•The amount of data allowable each day •The time of day the data is renewed•The name of your wifi network so customers can identify it easily•Unique username and password details for each room

We recommend that you change each room’s unique passwords every 6 months for security purposes or more frequently if you have regular customers. As a value added service Time Out Internet can set up the vouchers up and also create the room user name and passwords for you.

PayPal/Credit Card Purchasable Plans

There is an option for the system to permit credit card or PayPal account purchases of Internet access and no staff intervention is required and the login page can outline charges if you decide to implement this as a chargeable service. 100% of the purchase revenue goes to you. The business needs their own business PayPal account (this is easy to set up) which the guests money is paid into when purchasing the Internet. This is a handy service for people that require more Internet access than the business provides freely eg: offer 100Mb a day, if the guest requires more, then they can purchase from you at their leisure.

PERMANENTS, LOCK AND LEAVES OR SHORT TERM RENTALSIf you are an accommodation provider that has permanents, lock and leaves or short term rental properties on your portfolio, this is the perfect way to offer Internet to them and get a Return on your Investment. Quite often the permanent, lock and leaves or short term rentals cannot get a phone line into their unit/apartment or only have a short lease period to take advantage of the cheaper monthly fees that ISP’s provide, such as Telstra Bigpond and these people are forced to use USB data dongles for their Internet access which is very expensive. You can set up some plans to sell to them that are well priced and competitive (Time Out Internet can help guide you) and you can receive a monthly payment for Internet form these users – a win/win for you and the tenant!

Display your Website, Specials & Advertising. The Time Out Internet Access Control Server provides for the creation of a customisable login page for guests. This gives the opportunity for the business to offer guests free access to the business’ website without having to login to the Internet. The login page can be directed to show most websites, specials, advertising, etc. It is an easy to use graphical interface that you can design whatever you want to be shown to your guest when they go to log in. Note: if you have a webpage that has lots of widgets embedded (eg: booking service, links to Facebook, BOM, etc) we recommend you create a specific page using the feature below to display to your guests. Websites with lots of widgets will not load as you need to allow the system access to every one of these sites which then opens up your guests to access Facebook, etc without logging in.
