Clicking on the pictures will not work, they are just showing what you will encounter.

To be able to sign up, you must have received an Invitation from the Group Owner. This is a restricted Group that does not allow anyone who is not a member of the Group to join or even view.

If you have not received an invitation, give Mike or AJ a call.

Joining versus email only member

• Full membership allows you to view all of the content on the Group’s homepage with access to the various files, weblinks and photo’s that are available.

• The files section has all of the newsletter and minutes created since 09/08. We hope to get the past one’s uploaded in the future.

• As a full member, you can send email to all of the Group members both full members and email only members.

• Email only members can only receive messages sent through the Group. They can reply to those messages, but cannot initiate a message.

• Full members can also go to the Members link and send individual email messages to any member.

• The chapter maintains the most up to date chapter member information and it is available on the Group website. This keeps each member having to keep their own email list which changes as members change email address’s.

• The benefits are many and to be a full member is not that hard to do. The following slides help walk you through the process.

Replying to the email invitation

• The screenshots of the process are not that great, but you should be able to see enough to join.

• The next slide shows what the email invitation looks like. Simply click on the indicated button and the registration process will start.

• The next slide is an explanation of the Group and that you must be invited to join.

• IF you do not want to join as a full member, you should click on the wording near the bottom of the page that says “As an alternate option, you may join the mailing list instead”.

• Click on the “Join the Group” button if you want the full benefits of the Group website.

Sign In or Sign up

• If you are already a Yahoo! Member, you should simply sign in.

• If you are not a Yahoo! Member, click on the Sign Up wording in the ‘Don’t have a Yahoo! ID’ area.

• On this page you will enter your personal information and define an email address and password. Don’t worry about having to check your Yahoo! Email for Group messages. We will get that fixed.

• There are 2 slides following to show the entire page.

• When done, click the ‘Create my account’ button.

Important page

• The next slide shows the Congratulations page upon your successful registration.

• Please take note of the arrow pointing to the ‘Marketing Preferences’ link and click on it.

• This page shows how much junk mail you may sign up for. If you do not wish to receive the stuff, simply uncheck the box’s.

• The next 2 slides show your account information. If anything is wrong, change it now.

• Now, please note the area indicated by the red arrow. This shows how you will receive information from the Group and Yahoo!.

• Under the email address shown, you can add an email address to receive messages. If you do not want to have to check Yahoo! For email, add your current email address and check it. Then click the ‘Join’ button.

Nearing the finish line!

• The next slide will confirm your account settings.

• Make sure the email address for delivering messages is correct and uncheck the ‘Add Groups to my Yahoo! Toolbar’ unless you use the Yahoo! Toolbar already.

• Hit the continue button.

Done

• You should now be taken to the Cenla Roadrunners Group page.

• I would suggest that you make it one of your Favorites or Bookmarks in your browser for easy retrieval.

• That’s all there is to it! Yea right!! I know it is a cumbersome process, but I hope that this slide show helped.
