ROUNDTABLE DISCUSSION QUESTIONS1) One of the keys to resiliency can be surviving through and embracing change. Farmers markets can go through a number of changes including transitions in leadership and/or governance, moving location, funding shifts, and more. What changes have affected the farmers markets you have been involved with and what have been the key factors influencing the market’s ability to survive those changes and continue to thrive?
2) The local and regional food system scene has been growing and evolving rapidly in the last 10 years. Farmers and food producers now have expanded markets for their local products including restaurants, food hubs, institutional buyers, new retail models and farmers markets. What role do farmers markets play in this evolving local food system and how can vendors and market managers work together to place farmers markets at the forefront of the local food movement?
3) What can MIFMA do for you? As a member-based association, it’s important to MIFMA that we are working to meet the needs of our members. Share with MIFMA your feedback on what benefits you would like to see offered by our association, what training topics and speakers you would like to see addressed and any other feedback you can provide to help MIFMA serve you better!
