RNEF Spring Soiree Auction Baskets
Room Parent Meeting, Feb 5, 201
Intro to RNEF & Spring Soiree BasketsThe Roswell North Elementary Foundation was formed in 2009 to enrich
and support the academic experience of the students at RNE. Since
inception, we’ve raised nearly $500,000! RNEF FULLY funds the Licata
Science Lab, NEW Life Science Extension and RNE Garden, in addition to
technology for classrooms and projects requested by admin and
teachers.
NEW this year, 3rd, 4th & 5th grade homerooms will create baskets for auction at the Spring Soiree. 100% of the raised at the auction goes directly to the school, so the more we can earn with our basket the better!
Steps For Creative Room Parents1. Decide on basket theme. Confer with class parents and teacher; ask parents if they have
desirable connections you can build a theme around: season tickets to local team, airline miles to donate, vacation home, etc.
2. Submit theme and contents of basket for approval to this form by Feb. 28.3. Contact Financial Room Parent for budgeted amount from classroom fund. There is a
line item in every classroom budget for a basket.4. Send out an Amazon Wishlist and ask for donations to basket. Items can be donated by
local businesses or purchased by parents. Use donation letter with RNEF tax info.5. Once the basket is complete, please submit to this online form by March 27th. 6. Take a picture of your basket WITHOUT students and email to Kellie Pelletier Macdonald,
[email protected]. Please include teacher and grade in subject line. Save your picture by teacher and grade as well. Picture should be in jpeg format and sent as an attachment.
7. Drop off baskets on Wednesday, March 27th between 7am-9am. Baskets will be collected in the lobby. Baskets with alcohol can NOT be dropped off at school. Text Kellie @ 917-514-5851 to arrange another pick-up time and location.
Soiree Baskets DOs & DON’Ts1. Keep the Soiree audience in mind when devising a theme: Unlike Harvest
Festival, soiree baskets will be bid on by adults. Themes should reflect the things adults want to buy.
2. Build a theme around classroom connections: Email classroom parents and ask if anyone has connections that might drive the theme: vacation home, season tickets to local sports team, Box seats at Mercedes Benz stadium, BFFs that own a restaurant. Or, perhaps you have a parent who has an in-demand skill: interior designer, dentist, tennis pro, professional chef, hairdresser, etc.
3. ASK for DONATIONS: Encourage parents to ask for donations before they buy something. Although buying items is OK too. Provide the Donation Letter.
4. Basket does not have to be a basket. It can be a cooler, bucket, etc.5. Provide the total price of the basket. A $50 donation = $50.6. Make sure to use the classroom funds designated for the baskets.7. Need inspiration? Google “Auction baskets for fundraisers”
