This part describes the definition of RNC commissioning. It also describes the prerequisites andpreparations for RNC commissioning.

2.1 Definition of RNC CommissioningThe RNC commissioning refers to the commissioning of equipment, RNC loading, interfaces,and services after the RNC hardware installation. This ensures that the RNC works as designed.

2.2 RNC Commissioning PrerequisitesThis part describes the prerequisites for the state of the RNC equipment and the commissioningnetwork before the RNC commissioning commences.

2.3 RNC Commissioning PreparationsThis task describes how to obtain the installation software, license, and MML command scriptsrequired for RNC commissioning.

2.1 Definition of RNC CommissioningThe RNC commissioning refers to the commissioning of equipment, RNC loading, interfaces,and services after the RNC hardware installation. This ensures that the RNC works as designed.

2.2 RNC Commissioning PrerequisitesThis part describes the prerequisites for the state of the RNC equipment and the commissioningnetwork before the RNC commissioning commences.

Requirements for the State of the RNC EquipmentBefore commissioning, ensure that the RNC meets the conditions listed in Table 2-1.

RNC hardware Passes the hardware installation acceptance and powering-on test.

BAM Configured before delivery. For details, refer to 4.1.4 Checklist for BAMSoftware Settings Performed Before Delivery.

LMT The LMT computer meets the configuration requirements. For details, referto Computer Requirements of the LMT.

Requirements for the Commissioning NetworkThe network equipment in the commissioning network should meet the following requirementsto ensure smooth commissioning of the Iub, Iu, and Iur interfaces:

l At least one NodeB that has passed commissioning and that can provide basic functions isconnected to the local RNC.

l At least one set of CN equipment that has passed commissioning and that can provide basicfunctions is connected to the local RNC.

l If the Iur interface is configured, another RNC that has passed commissioning is connectedto the local RNC.

l Three single-mode UEs and one dual-mode UE are ready for test and are registered in theHLR.

Figure 2-1 shows a typical RNC commissioning network.

l The figure only shows the connection. The quantity and type of cables are not involved.

l Figure 2-1 illustrates an example. There may be other commissioning scenarios, as listedin Table 2-2.

Required SoftwareThe required software is as follows:l Setup disk of BAM application that is consistent with the local office version

l Setup disk of LMT application that is consistent with the local office version

Required LicenseHuawei technical support engineers apply for the license which is applicable to configurationin the local office.

Required MML Command ScriptsBefore RNC commissioning, complete the initial configuration according to the RNC InitialConfiguration Guide and obtain the MML command scripts. In addition, check the dataconfiguration according to the MML command script specifications and the on-site negotiateddata defined in the RNC Initial Configuration Guide.
