Basic Information

In order to know if you are interviewing your target audience, 5 basic questions must be asked: Age, Gender, Occupation, Ethnicity and Hobbies.

Sub-categories like Relationship Status and Town of Residence, will enable me to know whether a relationship may affect the music taste as well as where most R’n’B audiences are mainly situated.

The total amount of people interviewed are 5, which can be considered to be unrepresentative as it is only a small amount.

Magazine Purchase-Between the two genders, the male sex

commonly answered that they purchase a magazine at least once a year as it is

cheaper and available online. However, both females had contrasting views.

-Between the 3 common R’n’B magazines, Vibe and Rap-Up are the ones preferred by the interviewees. As the front page looks

very appealing and best fits the R’n’B theme.

-A monthly issue of my magazine is most preferred, as my target audience are mainly either from working and middle class. It also makes the magazine more interesting and

keeps celebrity and music news long-lasting and in-date (even though it might be a month). Also it become like a gossip

magazine, which needs to be updated every week .

-As mentioned on the previous slide, most my target audience are mainly either from working and middle class. This means that may not be able to afford anything below a

weekly issue.

- The second pie chart refers to where my interviewees are likely to purchase my magazine. The majority agreed that the

Newspaper Agency is the most likely place instead of the others. They say that, that is

the first place they would think of if asked to purchase it. According to two interviewees, WhSmith seems very expensive and would

be the last place they would look.

-The next question asked was what type of colour scheme they preferred. All five of

them (male and female) answered A little of everything. As it will depend on the theme.

-In preference to how the magazine should be layered out, 60% (3 people) stated that they favour an organized magazine. As it would be easier to understand any kind of

sequences.

-The pictures on the right are current contemporary R’n’B

artists. These have been chosen by all 5 interviewees.

-IAccording to all 5 of my target audiences, they all preferred to read an interview on the double

paged spread. This will allow them to know more about the artist and their forthcoming song or album.

-There is no doubt that people wouldn’t disagree with having free gifts included in their magazine. To them, having freebies makes them want to buy the magazine

even more as it will be worth the price.
