New POS functionality

Wildcard support in Product Search The Item Description Search feature of the POS has been enhanced to provide the ability to search for a product by using part of the product description. Searches can be performed using single or multiple wildcard search criteria. With this enhancement only items whose descriptions match the entered search string will be retrieved. The operator can now type in key words, phrases or letters of a product which will be used as criteria in the product search.

New POS functionality

Second Balance Authorization The SAP POS has been enhanced to prompt for supervisor authorization when a second balance is started for the same terminal or cashier when configured through POS.INI This enhancement provides additional loss prevention control where a cashier runs a first balance to find the totals in the cash drawer and then re-runs a balance for a lower amount to pocket excess monies. Increased number of tenders Retailers may accept many tenders in their stores, such as credit cards, debit cards, coupons, foreign currencies, among others. The POS solution has been enhanced to now support defining up to 99 tenders. Auto Tender Menu for Non-Merchandise The POS now provides the ability to allow a retailer to create dynamic tender menus for the purchase of non-merchandise items. Only those tenders that apply with a non-merchandise transaction will be shown in the tender menu.

New POS functionality

Item Sales Restriction by POS terminal The POS has been modified to allow items to be sold at certain groups of registers within a store; and conversely to disallow other items from being sold at a group of registers. This now allows retailers to have “stores within a store“. Examples include a brand name fashion house having a section of a larger department store or a store having a pharmacy department that does not allow the main POS terminals to sell items from this department. Clock In/Clock Out Password The POS has been enhanced to provide the ability to disable prompting for entry of a password for the CLOCK IN / CLOCK OUT functions when the Employee number is either scanned or swiped. If the Employee number is manually entered then the regular process of prompting for a password is still required.

New POS functionality

PLU Inquiry Display This enhancement will allow the POS to be configured so that the PLU number and the literal text “INQ:” to not be displayed when performing a price inquiry. This change will allow more of the item description to be displayed on the POS and also includes adding a new option “Display PLU Number” in the Configurator to control this option. Cashier Sign-on Report A manager code has been added to allow a 'Cashier Signed On’ report to be run from the POS. When initiated a message is sent to the store XPS server and based on the data selection, the report will print out the register, cashier name, cashier number and cash drawer that they are using.

New POS functionality

Cash drawer enhancement This new function will allow the POS application to support cashier accountability for up to 4 cashiers working on a terminal simultaneously. This is done by creating two 'cash boxes' in each of the registers and assigning the cashiers to cash boxes within the cash drawer. Multiple bitmap logos on receipt This new feature will allow for an additional receipt bitmap to be printed at the bottom or top of the receipt. The POS currently supports printing a single bitmap on the top of the receipt, the bottom or both. This new function will now allow an additional bitmap to be printed in the opposite location on the receipt of the primary bitmap. This allows a retailer to place their logo on the top of the receipt, and include an additional logo (e.g. government logo, service provider logo, etc.) on the bottom of the receipt.

New POS functionality

Receipt grouping The POS has been enhanced to allow for pre-configured departments to display a line entry on the receipt for the total amount of items which were entered on the POS for that department. The individual items for this department will not be displayed. All other items (not part of the pre-defined departments) will be displayed in the standard way. Receipt Identifier The POS has been enhanced to allow a receipt to have 3 lines for the receipt identifier. The Configurator has been modified to provide three lines where free text can be entered. Wildcards can be used to display specific fields such as store number, terminal number, transaction number, date/time, cashier name/number. This provides improved control and flexibility on the types and location of receipt identification information.

New POS functionality

Print Non-merchandise logo This requirement will enable different non merchandise logos to be printed on the receipt as each of the non merchandise functions within a transaction are called. For example, if a cashier invokes a non merchandise transaction (such as a payment), then the receipt can now print both the retailer’s logo with the payment provider’s logo beneath it. If the next non merchant transaction is a Gift Card (or another non merchandise item), then the receipt should print both the retailer’s logo with the Gift card logo underneath. Tender Detail on POS Receipt The POS has been be enhanced so that when the option “Full Detailed Tender Copy” in Tender Setup - Print Options is enabled, the POS will print item details on the tender receipts

New POS functionality

Link Items Printing This new function allows the POS to omit printing of the detail lines for a linked item when only the main line needs to be printed. This feature is defined at the item level, since some linked items need to print out the item details. Detail items still need to affect inventory and be included in the TLOG and journal files. This only impacts the receipt printing . Allow Slip Printing After Receipt This enhancement will allow retailers to improve customer service by issuing the customer’s receipt first and then validating an internal document via the slip printer. This enhancement provides improved speed and customer service when performing additional validation processes as part of the sale Expiry Dates for cards The POS now provides additional control over 2 digit years for card expiry date handling. This enables retailers in some regions that have branded credit cards with an expiry date of 12/99. These last century expiry dates indicate that this card does not expire.

© 2011 SAP AG. All rights reserved. 14

New POS functionality

EFT Training Mode The POS now allows for the ability to send EFT authorization requests with a node for Training mode enabled (based on a new register parameters configuration flag). Extend POS Store Number The POS now provides support for up to 6 digit store numbers. Extend POS Cashier number The POS now provides support for up to an 8 digit cashier and sales person number.

New POS functionality

Store Manager TLOG Trickle The Store Manager has been modified so that the TLOG records generated from the Store Manager are trickled to Transnet in the same way that TLOGs generated by the POS are trickled to Transnet. The Transnet framework and the Transnet adapter have been updated to support this enhancement Keyboard Accessibility This enhancement has removed the dependency of the mouse when a user is operating in the Store Manager or Electronic Journal applications. With this feature, the ability to tab through the Store Manager or use Hot Keys is now supported. Configurator – Context Sensitive online documentation The POS Configurator application has been enhanced to allow a user to press the F1 function key, determine the active window and display the help document associated with that window. If there is no help page associated for the current window then the system will display the general help.

IT Services and application management

POS Field Length Alignment With SAP ERP This release contains additional enhancements to further improve field length/type alignments between the various POS and ERP fields to minimize the need for data value-mapping. Sequence Number for a Referral Post Void The POS has been enhanced so that the proper sequence number from a referral request is returned. When processing a post void during credit authorizations, the sequence number for the original authorization transaction needs to be returned back to the POS. This sequence number must match on both the originating request as well as the referral request.

IT Services and application management

Automated installation A new Automated Installer application has been created. This installer process provides improved scripting control to configure and launch the installation of SAP POS applications / databases on the POS and Xpress Server machine and backup Xpress Server machine. This uses pre-defined installation responses extracted from a store-specific INI file. OPOS Printer Port Control & Release This enhancement enables control of POS devices to be released by the POS application, so that a 3rd Party application can perform additional functionality. This functionality would include country specific fiscal invoice generation and or similar government report printing to be generated and created external to the POS application. This enhancement now allows for the printing of externally generated items on the POS system.

IT Services and application management

Enhanced Printer Error Handling This enhancement will prevent a cashier from having the ability to disable the POS printer when there is a printer malfunction. This enhancement provides improved loss prevention control. Business Process Monitoring Business Process Monitoring (BPM) provides the infrastructure needed for monitoring SAP POS critical business processes. With this release, process monitoring is now available to identify problems with TLOG trickling, Transnet message throughput, Master Data Import and the POS End of Day procedure. This allows the customer to pro-actively address process failures.

IT Services and application management

SAP POS Wiley Introscope Integration The integration between SAP POS and Wiley Introscope now allows for automated information gathering and will provide information to assist with root cause analysis and the problem resolution process. Using Wiley Introscope, the following information can be now collected about the Xpress Server and POS: Xpress Server

• Disk Space, Memory and CPU usage will be reported by existing functionality of the SMD agent

• POS registers • Disk space and memory information, provide live monitoring of basic system information from each register

IT Services and application management

Solution Manager Diagnostic Integration Integration to Solution Manager Diagnostics (Standard SAP toolset used by AGS/IMS Global Support Organization to assist in problem root-cause analysis) has been included in this release. The Solution Manager Diagnostic Agent is used by the SAP POS Support Organization, AGS or a customer's own System Administrator to monitor system state, access system information and track software and configuration changes on a daily, or on-demand basis. Supportability Enhancements The POS now allows for the wrapping of OPOS logging files the same way that other SAP POS log files are wrapped. With this enhancement when log files are wrapped, logging will start over at the 1st byte of the file when the file reaches a certain fixed size setting.

IT Services and application management

E-invoicing The POS now supports integration via User Exit control to an external E-invoicing engine. This is a legal requirement for a number of Latin American countries. Electronic Invoice refers to the process whereby a retail customer goes to a store with their transaction receipt and requests the creation of a government e-Invoice for some or all the items within a transaction. This information can then be provided to the government in order to collect a tax refund.

Extensibility

EFT User Exit enhancement The existing POS EFT User Exit has been enhanced to allow for the EFT device to be responsible for communications to and from the financial host. With this enhancement, the POS is now able to utilize newer pinpad devices without requiring changes to the POS code. In addition, new EFT functionality is now supported by this User Exit. This includes, Signature capture callback, Manual card entry callback, Card entry at the POS callback, Transnet Request callback and Transnet Request direct callback. Services User Exit A new Services User Exit is now available to allow merchants to accept various types of payments for external services. Scenarios supported could include:

• adding minutes to a mobile phone • paying mobile phone bills • paying for airline tickets • paying credit card bills.

In stores these services are processed at the POS for cash management purposes. While the POS supports the functionality to process several services, the implementation of various customer-specific service types required code changes to the POS to support each new service. The new solution is a flexible Services User Exit in conjunction with a Services Extension to allow the addition of similar services via the XML configuration file.

Extensibility

Promotion Engine User Exit A new User Exit has been developed to enhance the payment options provided to customers. Via the User Exit, retailers can now extend upon the current POS promotion capabilities without requiring POS code changes. POS promotions are typically tender or department specific and can include company discounts, benefits or payment options. The cashier will present these options which are displayed on the POS to the customer. The customer will then select the best promotion for their needs. Extensions to the POS Transaction Object User Exit The existing POS Transaction Object User Exit has been enhanced to extend the capabilities to influence the processing of POS transactions as they occur on the register. New enhancements to the Transaction Object User Exit now enable retailers to include extensions to interact with the POS Operator as well as the customer. It will also allow the retailer to have more control of the receipt. The Transaction Object can now be utilized for such items as email receipts, interaction with loyalty, promotion and coupon program or integrating programmatically with special payment stations.

Security

Centralized Encryption Key Management (User Exit) With this enhancement retailers can now have extended control over implementing and managing encryption keys in a centralized manner using specialized 3rd. Party tools. This is a User Exit to enable integration with common key management tools (e.g. RSA Key Manager). The User Exit supports different encryption algorithms including DES and 3-DES. Role based security for POS Manager codes The POS has been enhanced to provide access to Manager Code functions based on the cashier’s role. This now provides up to 20 cashier role types. User authorization is performed to allow maximum flexibility in configuration so that if the Role-Based authorization passes and the cashier does not have enough authority they will not be allowed to perform that function.

Security

Secure Supervisor Authorization

The POS has been enhanced to allow the retailer to enable an option to have an authorization request require a second supervisor sign on. This provides additional LP control when a supervisor who is currently signed on to the POS attempts to perform an action requiring a supervisor authorization. Secure Post Void The POS now provides the ability to control whether a Post Void transaction should only be allowed for the cashier that completed the original transaction (provided that they have the necessary authorization level or a supervisor authorization is granted). If a cashier other than the original one tries to complete a Post Void, a message is displayed indicating that the operation cannot be completed. This provides improved LP control.

Supervisor Name on Journal This security enhancement allows for the printing of the supervisor (or person who authorized a function) on the transaction journal. The electronic journal will now display the number of the operator who approved the function, followed by the Last Name, First Name and the function that was authorized. Tender Policy by IDCC Table

This enhancement will allow policies printed on the receipt to be specifically targeted to specific bank-issued card types. Historically policies had been linked to generic card types (Visa, Amex, MasterCard, etc.) but could not be configured to be displayed at a lower level.

Thank You!
