PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

I am currently working for Mopani Copper Mines, Nkana Concentrator as a Plant Metallurgist Technical, Process Control and Quality Assurance.I am also currently heading the training and safety section and general administrative works at Nkana Concentrator.

Responsibilities

To ensure that metallurgical and operational data are regularly and accurately recorded, and to ensure that reliable information about plant performance and material stock is available at the required time.

To ensure that plant metallurgical and operational quality parameters and standards are safely met, sustained and improved.

To ensure that all plant control sampling points are easily accessible and clear of material buildup all the time.

To ensure efficient and smooth operations by maintaining good lines of communication with the other departments.

Liaise and communicate with other department and divisional quality assurance on matters related to the departmental quality system.

To ensure that all training requirements for the department are compiled and necessary recommendations made.

Responsible to the Concentrator Superintendent. Responsible for all accounting reports, metallurgical accounting, receipts and

despatches of copper and cobalt ore and concentrates respectively. Responsible for budget figure generation as and when required. To ensure smooth supply of critical plant requirements such as reagents, mill

balls and mill rods to meet continuous operational needs. To monitor stock levels of all reagents and other key consumables. To coordinate, control and operate the quality system in the department. To monitor plant operations to ensure continuous compliance to quality

assurance and that the quality parameters are practical and attainable. To ensure that all operating procedures are in line with the departmental

quality assurance objectives. To ensure that all plant operating parameters are within the set ranges To provide relevant quality assurance information to all departmental staff

verbally and in writing. To provide adequate training programs for plant operatives. To provide cost information to the department’s management team.

MAJOR ACCOMPLISHMENT

Managed to successfully work and improve service quality in all the sections of the plant I worked in i.e.

Crushing, grinding, flotation and filtration sectionsManaged to successfully document and implement quality operating procedures and manuals.

Worked for as a Senior Assistant Metallurgical Engineer at Mopani copper Mines, Nkana Concentrator (November 2005 to May2006)

Responsibilities

Assist the Plant Metallurgist Technical in all Accounting jobs. Responsible for, carrying out investigations on all accounting problems

affecting plant efficiency Generate timely production statistics and accounting report:

Participate in all sampling exercises aimed at providing solutions associated with plant recoveries.

To compile metallurgical information for use in determining plant performance and efficiency.

Providing metallurgical production and technical data in order to analyze

accurately, inventories production statistics and metallurgical balances at required times.

Liaising with other departments namely Geology, and Analytical Services as required maintaining good communication both within and with other departmental personnel to ensure efficient and smooth operations.

Supervising subordinate personnel to ensure their effectiveness and safety conscious so that they gain understanding of their functions.

Worked for as an Assistant General Foreman – Operations at Mopani copper Mines, Nkana Concentrator (March 2005 to November 2005)

Responsibilities

Liaising with the Plant Metallurgist Operations to ensure smooth plant operations.

Supervising plant operations personnel, during shifts, in order to ensure quality production of copper and cobalt concentrates.

Making sure that plant performance parameters are monitored through out the shift.

Worked for BGRIMM Explosives as a Quality Controller Supervisor (September 2004 – 2005 March)

Responsibilities

Responsible to the Production Manager to ensure production of quality products at minimum costs.

Propose and direct investigations into new raw materials in order to recommend and adopt it in order to improve process efficiency and quality product.

Supervising and develop an effective production team.

MAJOR ACCOMPLISHMENT

Designed a kettle reboiler to vaporize chlorine as a fourth year project in 2002.

Part of the group that designed a Cumene plant as the final year project in 2003.

Heading team that is effectively implementing the Quality Management System at Nkana Concentrator.
