risk assessment

Risk Assessment There are many risks that could occur during the filming of our music video; because of this we have completed a risk assessment to ensure we take into account everything that could effect the filming. This will ensure we eliminate as many risks as possible. 1. Weather We cannot predict what the weather will be like when we want to film outdoor scenes. This may affect the filming schedule and put us behind of our original plan. For example if it rains and we need dry weather this will effect when we can film this specific scene, putting back other scenes we have planned to film. To stop this from happening we could check the weather forecast to try and plan to film on days when it is supposed to be sunny. However you can never fully predict the weather so I think this will be something we always have to consider. 2. People letting us down Obviously as we are relying on other people to be in the video we need to take into account that they may not be able to make times when we would like to film. And this would put back the filming of the whole video. They may also be ill and unable to make a filming day. However we have chosen people we trust and feel are reliable so I don’t think this will be a big problem. However we will give them as much notice as possible to ensure that they are free to be able to film. 3. Equipment breaking (Camera’s computers, editing software) we are relying on equipment for the whole project so if any of this breaks this could effect the final product and could also affect when we can film. To try and eliminate this we will ensure that we check all of the cameras etc. before we leave for a location to make sure everything is working correctly. This will make sure that we don’t waste time on the location trying to fix equipment and will make our filming time more efficient. 4. Health and Safety on location As one of our locations is on a beach we need to make sure that everyone filming with us is safe and doesn’t get hurt. We may film near the sea and we need to take extra caution to make sure that everyone is kept safe and isn’t put in any danger. This goes for actors and crewmembers. We will eliminate this by not going too close to areas that may be dangerous and cause risk to anyone involved in the filming. 5. Permission As we are using some locations outside of college we may need to look into whether we need to ask places permission to film. This is something we will have to do

Risk Assessment

There are many risks that could occur during the filming of our music

video; because of this we have completed a risk assessment to ensure

we take into account everything that could effect the filming. This will

ensure we eliminate as many risks as possible.

1. Weather – We cannot predict what the weather will be like when

we want to film outdoor scenes. This may affect the filming

schedule and put us behind of our original plan. For example if it

rains and we need dry weather this will effect when we can film

this specific scene, putting back other scenes we have planned

to film. To stop this from happening we could check the weather

forecast to try and plan to film on days when it is supposed to be

sunny. However you can never fully predict the weather so I think

this will be something we always have to consider.

2. People letting us down – Obviously as we are relying on other

people to be in the video we need to take into account that

they may not be able to make times when we would like to film.

And this would put back the filming of the whole video. They

may also be ill and unable to make a filming day. However we

have chosen people we trust and feel are reliable so I don’t think

this will be a big problem. However we will give them as much

notice as possible to ensure that they are free to be able to film.

3. Equipment breaking –(Camera’s computers, editing software)

we are relying on equipment for the whole project so if any of

this breaks this could effect the final product and could also

affect when we can film. To try and eliminate this we will ensure

that we check all of the cameras etc. before we leave for a

location to make sure everything is working correctly. This will

make sure that we don’t waste time on the location trying to fix

equipment and will make our filming time more efficient.

4. Health and Safety on location – As one of our locations is on a

beach we need to make sure that everyone filming with us is

safe and doesn’t get hurt. We may film near the sea and we

need to take extra caution to make sure that everyone is kept

safe and isn’t put in any danger. This goes for actors and

crewmembers. We will eliminate this by not going too close to

areas that may be dangerous and cause risk to anyone involved

in the filming.

5. Permission – As we are using some locations outside of college

we may need to look into whether we need to ask places

permission to film. This is something we will have to do

beforehand so it doesn’t effect out filming and waste people’s

time. This could also be the case if we use the studio in college

as many other groups may want to use it so we need to make

sure we book it so that we can use it without having issues with

other groups.

6. Props and costumes – Although the costumes we are thinking of

using are not overly complicated it may be difficult to get the

correct look for the video and the actor. It is important the

costumes fit the theme and genre of the video but also the actor

has to be comfortable wearing them. This is something we need

to consider as we may want a certain look but the actor isn’t

happy. We will ensure we have talks with all people involved and

make sure they are happy with the costumes we have

suggested. Also as we don’t have a budget for this video

getting props could be an issue. We are looking into getting

things for free by including things we have personally or that

people we know have and are willing to let us borrow for the

purpose of the video. We also need to make sure that props

don’t get broken, or cause an obstruction to the filming or the

location, as we may not be the only people in that location. We

will plan all of this before we film to ensure this isn’t an issue.

7. Getting to the locations – As we plan to include a lot of people in

certain parts of the video getting a large group of people to the

locations may be an issue. We have no way of transporting

people to locations so it will be down to the people involved to

get there. This could cause a problem to filming if not many

people can get there. This could affect the end look of the

video. We will try and eliminate this by giving people as much

notice as we can so they can try and organize a way of getting

to the location.
