Brazil(South America).

MONUMENTS

CRISTO REDENTOR

It is located on the hill of

Corcobado , where you could

enjoy beautiful views of the

city.

Corcovado is a hill, morro in

Portuguese, it has seven

hundred and ten meters of

height and a leafy herbage,

which is part of the National

Park of Tijuca.It is a very

upright mountain which is

located in a place where the

whole city is dominated.

ARCOS OF LAPA:

It is an ancient aqueduct,

which nowadays is used

as viaduct for the streetcar

which arrives to the morro

of Saint Teresa. The

arches are located in the

centre of Rio, in the

neighborhood of Lapa,and

they are a emblematic

monument of the city.

IMPERIAL PALACE:

The Imperial Palace is one of the most important monuments of Rio,and is

located in the square XV. The first floor of the building is used today like Paulo

Santos´s library,which collect books and publications mainly of the Portuguese

and Brazilian arquitecture .the rest of the building is used to make

presentations,plays,film screening, concerts and also like rooms dedicated to

different scopes of culture, coffe, shop..etc.

Carnaval:

The Carnaval of Río is celebrated during four days

when the schools of Samba get together to

compete, and where the city of Río de Janeiro get

visitors all over the wordl, and it get dressed of one

single colour, the joy.the city by itself participate of

the celebration,it is like say that during the time of

Carnaval the revels involve people from all the

social levels.

GASTRONOMYThe tipical dish of Rio de Janeiro is the feijoada

In Brazil,the traditional days to

eat

feijoada are wednesday and sat

urday. On those days, the

restaurants offer them on

their menú, and some familys

and group of friends

prepare feijoadas in different

informal meetings.it is a cheap

dish and is consumed by all the

social levels.most people think

that this dish

with caipiriña, samba and

the carnaval of Brazil are the

most famous elements of Brazil

known all over the world.

like the Cavaquinho,

which is very similar to

the mandolina; the Viola,

is also similar to the

guitar but it is smaller;and

, the Rabeca, similar to

the violín.

THE SAMBA:

The samba is a pureBrazilian dance and it islike a fussion os Spanishbolero with the Africanrythm, it is famous since1930. Every year, in the Carnaval all theschools of samba go out to the march-past with thebest costumes and its mostbeautiful women. This is a revel that you can´t lose ifyou visit Brazil onFebruary. The mostimportant citys to enjoy a carnaval are Río de Janeiro, Sao Paulo and Salvador de Bahía.

To end this work we have to mention the fantastic

beachs of Rio.

one of the best seven beachs of Rio is

Copacabana.

It has a total length of 4 Km (if we include the beach

of Leme). Here we can find people who are playing

football or volleyball during all day.

The Atlantic Avenue is the name of the street which

go over Copacabana from the beggining to the end.

In that street we can find important hotels, elegant

restaurants and all type of markets where some

crafts are sold.
