• São Paulo – Delegates arriving at GRU as first port of entry into Brazil must collect baggage, clear customs and check in again for

domestic flight to Rio

– Recommended to avoid changing airports in São Paulo - ground transfers can take 1½ - 2½ hours

Spokespersons Policy

• At all times, media liaison is the main responsibility of the appointed PR person(Press Attaché) who will assist any person approached by the media in terms of advice and redirecting inquiries to the relevant spokesperson/s

• On all policy matters in the pre-Games as well as the Games period, the SASCOC President, Secretary General and Chef de Mission of Team South Africa eligible to speak.

Spokespersons Policy

• Athletes may talk to the media (including using social media) about:

– Their own preparation and performances (not other members of their team, Team SA, other competitors in the Games, SASCOC and the Games event organizers)

– Their past performances, achievements/ non-achievements

– Their biographies e.g. for athlete feature stories, etc.

– Their training programmes and progress

– Other preparations in the run-up to and during the Games

– The event/s they will compete in.

• Athlete Family and Friends Tickets – All athletes are guaranteed two tickets for all sessions they participate in (except for

Swimming – only 1 ticket due to venue size)

– Tickets can be purchased pre games from our ATR or at any ticket office in Rio with Athletes accreditation number (must have a photo ID when purchasing)

• Different Discipline Tickets – Athletes and Officials can request tickets to watch other sports. These tickets are not

guaranteed. Orders must be placed the day before the event. These tickets can only be used by accredited personnel.
