Riders who have ever competed as a team member of any Senior International Team (4* or 5* Nations Cup in the last 10 years, World, European Championships and Olympic Games are not eligible). All horses, owners and riders must be registered with the BSPA, and all stallions must be licensed and graded with the BSPA. The only horses/ponies eligible to compete are those that have qualified ata qualifying show. An award donated by the British Skewbald and Piebald Association will be presented in the ring to the best turned out groom inclasses 112, 113, 114, 115, 116, 117 and 118.

The only animals eligible to compete are those which have been placed first at one of thequalifying shows. In the event of the first placed animal having already qualified, the next animal may qualify and so on down to third place.

Marks will be allocated as follows:-

4. Show a horse owned or sponsored by a company or commercial firm in any showing classes, BSHA or otherwise, or a horse for which his or her immediate family accepts livery or training charges from a person outside the immediate family concerned.

5. A competitor is not eligible to compete in Amateur classes on an exhibit which has been ridden by a professional rider in any open classes BSHA or otherwise with the exception of Open Working Show Horse and Side Saddle Classes during the current year unless the horse has subsequently been re-registered under new ownership.

6. A competitor is not eligible to compete in Amateur classes at the Longines Royal International Horse Show on an exhibit which has been ridden by a professional rider in any class at the Longines Royal International Horse Show in the current year.

A Show Jumping Competition for teams of three riders; open to senior members of a British Riding Club which is affiliated to the British Horse Society (although teams may include one junior member if desired). Riders do not have to be members of British Showjumping. Horses to be 14.0hh and over. Teams to be made up of one novice horse and rider combination (not to have won more than 125 British Showjumping points); one intermediate horse and rider combination (not to have won more than 255 British Showjumping points); one open horse and rider combination (not to have won more than 375 British Showjumping points). Points in each section to be correct at time of entry. Riders and horses may only compete in one team. All competitors must have their hats tagged with a BRC hat tag in order to compete. This service will be available on the day. Please allow plenty of time!

Novice horses to jump 0.85m; intermediate horses to jump 0.95m; open horses to jump 1.05m. All riders scores to count. In the event of elimination of one team member, 50 faults to be added, the remainder of the team to carry on. Competition under Table A4. One round against the clock - competitors placed on faults and time. The team with the least number of combined faults and the fastest combined time will be the winner - there will be no jump-off. This class is a qualifier for The SEIB Working Show Horse of the Year Final to be held at the BSHA National Championship Show. The two highest placed horses in the top five, not already qualified, in each Open Working Show Horse class, will qualify for the Final; no horse placed lower than fifth will qualify.

Any Horse which is a Grade B Showjumper, Intermediate Eventer, or above, as at the 1st January of the current year, is not eligible to compete in any Working Show Horse class. A rider may ride up to two horses in the jumping phase but must then select one Horse to take through to the Ride and Conformation phase (if required). No change of rider is allowed.

THe BRITISH HORSe SOCIeTY LIGHT TRADe & COSTeRS TURNOUT CLASSeSNot more than two adults will be admitted with any vehicle. The judges will take into consideration the fact that the exhibits are properly kept and produced, having regard to their particular trade, and the manner in which they are presented, decorated and turned out. The driver must be aged 10years or over on the first day of the show at which they are to compete. A driver under the age of 18 must be accompanied in the vehicle by a competent and responsible person aged 18 years or over, a ‘responsible adult’. Proof of age will be required if necessary. It is the responsibility of theowner/driver (if over 18) or (if the owner/driver is under 18) the responsible adult to ensure that his/her groom is/are competent for the purpose ofattending to the turnout and aged 10 or over on the day of the show. When in the vehicle grooms, passengers and driver must have their feet firmly onthe floor of the vehicle or use a suitable fixed footrest. This regulation applies at all times and in all areas on the showground. All drivers, grooms, passengers under the age of 14 years must wear a correctly fitted hard hat when in a carriage or in attendance to a turnout.

Open Light Trade Singles or Pairs, fours years old or over, any height, horse or pony to be shown in a trade vehicle, no goods to be carried or displayed. This class is a qualifier for the 2015 Osborne Refrigerators BDS National Championships at Driving Addington. The highest placed turnout owned and driven by a member of the British Driving Society and eligible for (j) Two Wheel Light Trade or (k) Four Wheel Light Trade disregarding those already qualified down to 6th place in the class will qualify for the 2015 Semi-Finals at Driving Addington. The Championship will immediately follow the Semi-Finals.

SHOWING GROOMSGrooms must be correctly dressed when entering the arena, i.e. hat and jacket. Anyone deemed inappropriately dressed will not be allowed to enter the ring.

Mark sheets will only be displayed on the notice board outside the show office on the dayof the class and until 11.00 am the next day. Regrettably, no copies will be available from the show office.

STABLINGApplications for StablingStabling must be booked on the official stabling form. The final date of application is 5th June, after which no guarantee will be given that stabling on the showgroundcan be made available. Only those horses who have stabling reserved on their Entry Form can be stabled at Hickstead. Stallion owners are required to bring theirown electric packs. Failure to do so will result in exhibitors having to purchase a pack from the stable manager at a cost of £200 per unit. Unruly or dangerous animalsmay be asked to leave the showground.

Cancellation of StablingNo application for refund of charges paid can be considered after 5th June.

ChargesStabling for period of show £155 inc. VAT Stabling for one night £50 inc. VAT Daily stabling is bookable for a 24 hour period; from 5.00pm to 5.00pmExhibitors with horses and/or ponies arriving for the first time at the Longines Royal International Horse Show at Hickstead will not be admitted between the hours of10.00pm and 6.00am. Competitors and horses in international jumping competitions must remain on site at all times. No animals or persons may arrive before10.00am on Monday 27th July. All animals must be removed on Monday 3rd August 2015. No horses or ponies may be kept in lorries overnight. Exhibitors who have not booked stabling will not be admitted to the Stable Field until the day of their competition.

Bedding and ForagePlease note that due to fire regulations, straw is not permitted in the Stable Field. ExHIBITORS ARE ADVISED TO BRING THEIR OWN SHAVINGS - STABLESWILL NOT BE BEDDED DOWN IN ADVANCE. Extra shavings, hay and forage can be purchased in the ‘Stable Field’ on a daily basis. Deliveries to the Stable Fieldby alternative suppliers will not be allowed. Exhibitors are expected to leave their stables in a clean state - failure to do so may result in future expulsion fromHickstead. Due to the escalating cost of muck removal, exhibitors will be charged £5 per stable to go towards the cost of this service.

CARAVANS AND LIVeD-IN HORSe BOXeSThere will be a limit of one caravan or one lived-in horse box per exhibitor for every three horses which they enter for the show. There will be no charge. Exhibitorswith generators on their horseboxes must turn them off by 10.00pm. This ruling will be strictly enforced by Stable Field Security. Exhibitors who fail to comply with thisruling will be asked to leave the showground.

PRIZe MONeY CHeQUeSIn order to be honoured, prize money cheques must be cashed within six months of issue date. Failure to do so will result in loss of prize money.

ReTURNeD CHeQUeSAny exhibitor whose cheque is not cleared through the banking system will incur a £30 surcharge, payable before entries can be accepted.

CUPS AND TROPHIeSExhibitors who win a trophy at the Longines Royal International Horse Show will have their details engraved on the trophy, but will not be allowed to take them home.We have had to make this regrettable decision due to escalating insurance costs and carriage charges.

RULeS FOR SHOW JUMPING eXHIBITORSSUBSTITUTIONS AND LATe eNTRIeS Substitutions may be allowed in Jumping Competitions at the discretion of the Executive, provided that a written statement is produced to support the application, andthe animal substituted is in the same ownership. Late and amended entries, if taken at the show, will be charged an extra £5 per class.

DeCLARATIONSDeclarations for all International Classes must be made either by telephone or in person on the previous evening by 5.30 pm. Late Declarations (If accepted) will becharged a premium of £25. Competitors in national classes must declare at the ringside before the start of their class. If there are no competitors waiting to jump or thereare no numbers on the blackboard, the judges will close the class. This rule particularly applies to the first class of the day. Please ensure that you arrive early.

UNACCOMPANIeD COMPeTITORSUnaccompanied competitors must provide the Show Organiser with a contact telephone number in case of an emergency.

ReADINeSS FOR JUMPINGHorses must jump in the order in which they appear on the Notice Board unless special permission has been obtained from the Organisers. This regulation will bestrictly enforced. Any competitor missing his turn may be eliminated from the competition. During the competition three competitors must always be ready to enter theArena. If a competitor does not respond when he is called he loses his turn, and may be eliminated from the competition in progress.

JUNIOR MeMBeRSJunior Members are only permitted to compete on horses from the calendar year in which the age of 12 is reached.

HeADGeAR Members of British Showjumping competing in international competitions will be required to wear headgear in accordance with Rule 101.3.

STALLIONS“Rule 82.21 No member shall allow a stallion for which he/she is responsible as owner, lessee, authorised agent or rider to compete or be prepared to compete, in anyshow jumping competition without taking adequate precautions to ensure other members of the public are not put at risk of injury”. Also refer to Rule 102.11.

GeNeRAL CONDITIONSThis event is organised in accordance with FEI Statutes, 23rd Edition, effective 29th April 2014; FEI General Regulations, 23rd Edition, effective 1st January2009 updates effective 1st January 2015; FEI Veterinary Regulations, 14th Edition effective 1st January 2015; The Rules for Jumping Events and itsAnnexes, 25th edition effective 1st January 2014 updates effective 1st January 2015; CSI/CSIO prize money requirements and Longines Rankings - GroupCategories (see FEI website); CSI 3*, 4* invitation system (Europe) and 5* invitation system (Worldwide) according to Annex V of the FEI Jumping Rulesand its Annexes 25th Edition 1st January 2014 and updates effective 1st January 2015; Equine Anti-Doping and Controlled Medication Regulations(EADMCR), 2nd edition, effective 1st January 2015; FEI Anti-Doping Rules for Human Athletes (ADRHA), based on the 2015 revised WADA code, effective1st January 2015; and all subsequent published revisions, the provisions of which will take precedence.An arbitration procedure is provided for in the FEI Statutes and General Regulations referred to above. In accordance with this procedure, any appealagainst a decision rendered by the FEI or its official bodies is to be settled exclusively by the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) in Lausanne, Switzerland. Itis the responsibility of NFs to ensure their participants are of the correct age.Final approval of this schedule by the FEI, in accordance with Article 115.1, denotes only that the contents conform to the FEI Statutes, General Regulationsand Rules. By no means does this entail implicit acceptance of any liability by the FEI for any damages to third parties caused by the Organising Committeeand its officials, athletes, owners, and horses.

CHeFS D’eQUIPe MeeTINGThe Chefs d’Equipe meeting will take place at 18.00 hours on Wednesday 29th July 2015.

HORSe INSPeCTIONA horse Inspection will be carried out in the International Stable Compound between 14.30 and 18.00 hours on Wednesday 29th July 2015. All horses taking part at this event must be presented during the first horse inspection, otherwise they are not permitted to participate.

eVeNT'S ORGANISATION (Articles 114-115)In exceptional circumstances, together with the approval of the Chefs d’Equipe and the Ground Jury, the OC reserves the right to modify the schedule in order to clarify any matter arising from an omission or due to unforeseen circumstances. Unforeseen circumstances do not include situations arising as a result of the OC altering the approved schedule without FEI’s authorisation. Any such changes must be notified to all competitors and officials as soon as possible and they must be reported to the FEI Secretary General by the Foreign Judge.

eLIGIBILITY OF NATIONAL COMPeTITORS FOR INTeRNATIONAL CLASSeS

The only National competitors eligible to compete are the following:(a) The top 10 British riders on the FEI Longines Ranking List no. 170.(b) The top 20 riders on the Area/International Points List for the period 1 April - 30 September, 2014 and the first 3 riders in The All England

Grand Prix at Hickstead in September 2014 will qualify for The Templant Events Queen Elizabeth II Cup, plus those selected by the Organising Committee in consultation with the British Team Manager.

(c) The show reserves the right to invite up to three additional riders to compete at this show.(d) Riders qualified under sections (a), and (c) may bring no more than three horses to the show for international jumping classes.(e) Riders qualified under section (b) may bring no more than one horse for The Templant Events Queen Elizabeth II Cup.

GENERAL RULES AND REGULATIONS1. DRESS

Protective headgear must be worn by anybody riding a horse for any reason.

International Jumping: In accordance with the FEI Rules.

National Jumping Classes: As in accordance with British Showjumping Rule 101.

Showing Classes: In accordance with the rules of the relevant Showing Society. In classes where grooms or attendants are permitted to enter the ring during preliminary or final judging, they must be correctly dressed. Headwear, coats, collar and ties must be worn.

2. FORFEITURE OF FEES AND CHARGESFailure to exhibit any animal entered will entail forfeiture of entry fees and all other charges other than in accordance with British Showjumping Rules.Should any competition be cancelled because of bad weather or any reason, entry fees will be refunded. It is regretted that stabling and other chargescannot be refunded.

3. PRIZE GIVINGOwners of winning horses are most welcome to come into the arena for the prize giving but only if suitably dressed. This applies to all rings. Article 130.

4. TIMETABLE AND CLASS LISTSThe revised timetable and class lists will be posted on the notice boards. Riders whose horses are not stabled at Hickstead are strongly advised tocheck the Hickstead Website www.hickstead.co.uk after 8.00pm for revised times.

5. VEHICLESThe Executives reserves the right to remove any vehicle which is obstructing any access to or from the ground even if locked and unattended and theExecutive will not be liable for any injury, loss or damage occasioned by such removal.

6. MOTORBIKES AND BICYCLESIn the interests of safety of competitors and members of the public, the riding of bicycles, motor cycles, mopeds, etc, is FORBIDDEN anywhere on theHickstead Showground. Anybody contravening this rule will be sent off the Showground.

7. FIRE PRECAUTIONThe County Fire Officer of West Sussex has ordered that all horseboxes and caravans parked in the Stable Field must carry a fire extinguisher. Youmay be asked to leave if you do not have one.

8. AGE AND HEIGHTThe age and height of each animal entered and other specified particulars must be accurately stated on the Entry Form. Age is in all cases to becomputed from the first of January of the year in which the animal was foaled.Animals exhibited in Classes restricted in height will only be measured on an Objection. However, Joint Measurement Board Height Certificates must becarried by the exhibitor or rider of all animals in the Hack, Cob, Small Hunter, Small Riding Horses and Children's Pony Classes during the Show, andbe produced if requested.A false declaration or mis-statement of any kind (including change of name of an animal or incorrect description or false declaration of prizes won atHorse Shows) may at the discretion of the Committee disqualify an Exhibitor from the Show and the animal entered from any prize and from entering orbeing entered again at the RIHS. In particular a mis-statement as to height will automatically render the animal ineligible for any judging or prize.Exhibitors must be prepared to verify any statement in a manner required by the Committee.

THE FEI CODE OF CONDUCT FOR THE WELFARE OF THE HORSEThe Fédération Equestre Internationale (FEI) expects all those involved in International equestrian sport to adhere to the FEI’s Code ofConduct and to acknowledge and accept that at all times the welfare of the horse must be paramount and must never be subordinated tocompetitive or commercial influences.

1. At all stages during the preparation and training of competition horses, welfare must take precedence over all other demands. Thisincludes good horse management, training methods, farriery and tack, and transportation.

2. Horses and athletes must be fit, competent and in good health before they are allowed to compete. This encompasses medication use,surgical procedures that threaten welfare or safety, pregnancy in mares and the misuse of aids.

3. Events must not prejudice horse welfare. This involves paying careful attention to the competition areas, ground surfaces, weatherconditions, stabling, site safety and fitness of the horse for onward travel after the event.

4. Every effort must be made to ensure that horses receive proper attention after they have competed and that they are treated humanelywhen their competition careers are over. This covers proper veterinary care, competition injuries, euthanasia and retirement.

5. The FEI urges all involved with the sport to attain the highest levels of education in their areas of expertise.

9. VETERINARY EXAMINATIONThe judges of every class other than the Jumping Classes shall have power to require any animal to be examined for soundness by theVeterinary Surgeon. The results of any veterinary examinations shall be regarded as confidential and the decision of the Veterinary Surgeonsshall be final.

10. DOPE TESTSTHE COMMITTEE RESERVE THE RIGHT TO INSTRUCT THE VETERINARY SURGEONS TO TAKE RANDOM "DOPE" TESTS ON HORSESAND PONIES IN ANY CLASS HELD AT THE RIHS. These tests will be carried out in accordancewith the Rules and Regulations of the SHB (GB), BSHA, BSPS, NPS and British Showjumping.

11. JUDGESThe Committee reserves the right to substitute other judges for those names in the Show Schedule or to make additional appointments (applicable only to National classes).

12. ANY COMPETITOR found riding in the ring without permission will be disqualified from the show and reported to the Stewards. All warming upmust be done in the area provided. No one is allowed on the Showground in the evenings or up to an hour before the first class in the morning.Any person riding their horses anywhere other than in the permitted areas will be subject to disciplinary action by the Ground Jury and may beordered off the Showground.

13. THE ExECUTIVE MAY IN ANY DISPUTE OR OTHER MATTER WHATSOEVER, ACT OR DECIDE IN ANY MANNER THEY THINK FIT(SAVING FEI AND BRITISH SHOWJUMPING RULES). ALL OBJECTIONS AND COMPLAINTS MUST BE MADE IN WRITING ANDACCOMPANIED BY A DEPOSIT OF THE EQUIVALENT OF 150 SFr. (£60) Articles 167-171, or £100 under British Showjumping Rule 198.

14. The Committee reserve to themselves the right to cancel or add to any of the competitions, or amend the conditions of any competition, dividing classes into sections, or cancelling sections, and amend prize money. Also to hold any competition in the morning or on any such occasions, or at any such place as they may deem necessary (applicable only to National classes).

15. Entries for all National Classes confined to registered horses/ponies to be ridden by members in accordance with British Showjumping Rule 79.

16. RESPONSIBILITYNeither the RIHS nor the Committee will be responsible for any accident, injury or damage that may occur to, or any illness or disease whichmay be contracted by, any animal entered at the Show howsoever occurring, and Exhibitors shall keep the RIHS and the Committee and each ofthem harmless and indemnified against all liability whatever, arising from any such accident, injury, damage, illness or disease. Neither the RIHSnor the Committee nor any of its or their officers, servants or agents shall be in any way liable for anything that may happen (from any cause orcircumstances whatever) to Exhibitors or Competitors or their Servants or Agents, or to any animal or article exhibited, or to any property brought into the Show or for any other loss, claim, matter, circumstance or event whatever in connection with, or arising out of attributable to the Show or the RIHS or the Committee or any of them or their Officers, Servants or Agents or these or any other Rules andRegulations or Special Conditions prescribed by the RIHS.

Each Exhibitor will be considered responsible in all respects for the attendants in charge of his animals and for any other servants or agents ofhis and for the consequences of any infringements by any such persons of the Rules and Regulations.

17. DECISIONSThe decisions of the Committee or the Veterinary Surgeons or of any Judges or Show Officials upon any of the matters required by the foregoing Rules to be decided or directed by any such persons or bodies including any question of height or soundness or want of merit orexclusion from final judging or granting of any permission or otherwise shall be final and binding in all respects and no objection shall be madeon account thereof nor shall any appeal lie therefrom on any ground whatever (applicable only to National classes).

18. COMMITTEE'S POWERSSubject as hereinafter provided the Committee shall have the power (applicable only to National classes):(i) To interpret these Rules and Regulations and the Special Conditions applicable to the Classes and to appoint Stewards and Officials for the

enforcement thereof and for the purposes of the Show generally and such persons shall have full power accordingly.(ii) (In addition to the provisions of Rule 17) to determine any matter, question or difference whatever arising out of or connected with or

incidental to the Show or to these Rules and Regulations and the Special Conditions and their decision shall be final and binding and no appeal shall lie therefrom, and shall also have the power in case of emergency or expediency to suspend or relax any Rule or Regulations for such period and to such extent and in such manner as they think fit.

Provided always that when a competition is held under National Rules such National Rules of an affiliated Society or Association as areappropriate to the type and class of competition shall apply and shall have effect throughout such competition until immediately after the announcement of the results thereof (article 114.3 of the FEI General Regulations).
