2 minute lesson-plan on social media in the classroom – 10 minutes of planning

• Group 1 – Provide students factual knowledge about social media in the classroom

• Group 2 – Provide students understanding social media in the classroom

• Group 3 – Provide students a chance to apply social media in the classroom

• Group 4 – Provide students a chance to analyze the use of social media in the classroom

• Group 5 – Provide students a chance evaluate effectiveness of social media in the classroom

• Group 6 – Provide students a chance to create a plan of deployment for social media in the classroom

Reflective Questions

• Is creating any level of lesson plan more difficult than the other?

• Which level (generally) has the teacher do the most work? The student?

• Think back to your favorite class in elementary, middle or high school – what made it your favorite? Were you just memorizing stuff?

• If you are facilitating learning can you do all of the other stuff associated with good instruction more easily or with more difficulty (differentiation, provide feedback, ask higher level questions, engage students, etc.)
