Rigitone perforated boards from Rigips offer a wide range of highquality, acoustically effective perforated boards made from the environmentally friendly raw material gypsum.
The continuous perforation and jointless installation of Rigitoneperforated boards make them real eye-catchers, giving rooms aunique character while providing optimum acoustics.
Cost-effective work – two installation techniques with one setThe Rigips ReadyMix Set can be used for two proveninstallation techniques:
1. Create adhesive joints using Rigitone Joint Adhesive and Rigitone Finishing Compound.
2. Create filled joints using the practical Rigitone Mix bag.
One set for two different installation techniques. It couldn‘t be simpler.
1 Aesthetic room design with optimum acoustics

Board mounting Mount the first board in the centre ofthe room. Use an alignment line orpreferably a fixed edge guide to ensure the board is properly aligned before screwing it into place.

Work outwards from the centre of the room in a star pattern when mounting subsequent boards, making sure that they are all laid in the same direction (see markings on the ends and lettering on the long edges of the boards).

Installation• Mount and align the sub-structure comprising base and
supporting profiles so that the Rigitone boards can be fastened at right angles to the supporting profiles. A supporting profile should always be located at the transverse joints of the boards.
• The Rigitone boards should be fastened into place using
Rigitone 3.5 x 30 mm perforated panel screws inserted at intervals ≤ 170 mm; always fasten the transverse edges of the Rigitone boards first, then the long edges.
• Any slight unevenness in the surface under the boards can be compensa-ted by loosening the screws slightly.

Using the Rigips ReadyMix Set for adhesive joints
Rigips noteThe special Rigips ReadyMix Adap-ter will pierce the top end of the bag once sufficient pressure has been built up via the trigger of the pistol. This eliminates the need to cut the bag open manually.

PreparationUse a hand grinder to sand off/bevelthe board edges slightly. This step must be carried out for all board edges.

Finishing work on the Rigitone jointsThe slight bevelling of the board edges during preparation now allows optimum application of the Rigitone Finishing Compound to the joint area.
Then smooth off the joints using theRigips Scraper, leaving approx. 1 mmof the material.
Adhesive applicationApply the Rigitone Joint Adhesive tothe wetted board edges. The edges of the boards which have already been installed must also be wetted.
The Rigitone Joint Adhesive can alsobe easily applied to the edges of already installed boards. These edges must also have been wetted before-hand.
4 Processing instructions for adhesive joints
Board alignmentThe boards should be butt joined, ensuring that the perforation patternis aligned horizontally and diagonally. This creates a strong joint 0.5 - 1 mmwide.
Any excess joint adhesive cansubsequently be scraped out of thejoint before it has fully hardened.
Using the ReadyMix Set for adhesive joints (Finishing Compound)
You can then begin with finishing work. Fit a standard round nozzle to the Rigips ReadyMix pistol for applying the Rigitone Finishing Compound to the joint.
Once the Rigitone Finishing Com-pound is fully dry (approx. 24 hours), the joints can be sanded and the ceiling prepared for the final coating.
