Club Area Cleanliness

Please remember to clean up after your horse at the end of the day, and during the day.

Line up is often a very exciting time for some horses, so they like to leave a deposit behind before they begin the day’s activities. There are scoops and wheelbarrows around to make this task easier. If you use a yard, it is your responsibility to leave it clean.

Tree Watering

The Cypress trees that were planted in 2010 along Sutherlands Rd. are struggling through this lat-ter part of the summer. One per-son and two buckets can water them in one hour. Just imagine how easy the job would be with more people and more buckets (bring the fam-ily).

The trees behind the Clubrooms would also be pleased to receive a drink.

Watering List Please write your name on this list today, if you have been down to the Club to water the trees. Chocolate Drive.

Our Junior Committee is holding a Fund Raising event. Chocolates will be given to families at this Rally to sell to friends and family. Money to be

returned at the April rally.

OUT AND ABOUT—continued...

State Championships - Dressage and Show Jump-ing The best combinations in the state took part in this event. To be eligible they all competed at their Zone level events and were successful, and gained a place in these State Championships. Five of our riders took part. In Gr1 Dressage we had Emily Hartney, Chloe Ritchie and Sarah French and at Gr.2 level we had Candice Waldhauser and Isabelle Luxmoore. Our riders certainly collected some ribbons at this prestig-ious event on the PCAV calendar. Sarah French was the Gr.1 Champion (an Individual event only). Isabelle Lux-moore was the Gr. 2 Champion, just slightly ahead of Candice Waldhauser, and our two girls were joined by Nicola Fitzgerald , a previous member of our Club, and now with Bullengarook to form the Zone Gr.2 team. They were the winning Gr. 2 team. In Showjumping, Brenton Brewer repre-sented C.Z. CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR RIDERS. Glenlyon Horse Trials Eight of our riders entered this event. In Gr.1 we had Sarah French and Victory, in Gr.2 (Open) Bessie Dimery and Kapeta Kip, in Gr.3 Melanie Pearce and Roger, Trinity McLean- Ingleton on Zakhan, Alice Poker on Northern Flirtatious and William Poker on Hannah, NO Gr.4 riders and in Gr.5 Laura Frost on Timmy and Clare Lovel and Midnight having their very first start in a Horse Trials event. Sarah French, in her last few months of Pony Club, certainly had a wonderful weekend. On her second horse, Victory, she won the Gr 1, and gained a qualification for the State Horse Trials in May. Bessie Dimery had a try in the Gr. 2 Open section, and was pleased with the X.C phase.

Our four riders in the Gr.3 section did very well. William Poker and Hannah were third , and Trinity McLean Ingleton on her evergreen pony Zakhan were fourth. Melanie Pearce had a memory lapse on X.C. but showed that Gr. 2 is not too far away. Alice Poker on her young mare showed that progress is certainly being made.

Laura Frost and Timmy in Gr. 5 are looking more like Gr. 4 riders. She was placed 5th. Clare Lovel made an excellent start to her Eventing career on Midnight. Mother found the day more trying than horse and rider.

Central Zone Gymkhana—Lowden Family Shield What a great day for RCPC. With twenty-seven riders entered from across the groups on beautifully turned out horses (the shiny coats were almost dazzling), uniforms almost to perfection and the enthusiasm to compete in all sections, our Club was able to produce the winning score. Riddells Creek was first (709 pts), Macedon second(662pts) and Woodend third (426pts). I am sure that the prize ribbons hanging in the homes of those riders who competed are much admired by the family and visitors when they come to your house. Thank you Kate for organizing the entries, and for reminding riders about uniforms etc. Our riders had so much suc-cess that it is not possible to list them all here. Just click on to the Central Zone web site to see photos and all the results.

CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL RIDERS IN THE RCPC TEAM. Wendy Abey took a games clinic the week before this event, to make sure that our riders understood the games and the rules. Thank you Wendy.

If parents are able to print Lowden Shield photos and donate them to the Club, we will make a collage of them, similar to the Games feature on display in the Clubrooms.
