God’s work for you in the world is called your mission - your work with unbelievers.Ministry is to the people of God.Your life mission is shared, with other Christians and specific, an assignment just for you.


Mission - Latin sending John 20:21 - Jesus said, “Peace be with you! Your mission is a continuation of Jesus’ mission on earth

Jesus calls us to go for him - 5 timesMatt 28:18-20, Mk 16:15, Lk 24:47, Jn 20:21, Acts 1:8This is not a suggestion - obedience is mandatory


Ezek 3:18 When I say to a wicked person, ‘You wi& surely die,’ and you do not warn them or speak out to dissuade them !om their evil ways in order to save their life, that wicked person wi& die for their sin, and I wi& hold you accountable for their blood.You are the only Christian some people will ever know - it is your mission to share Jesus with them


Your mission is a wonderful privilege

It is an honour to be used by God:A& this is !om God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation...We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. Telling others how they can have eternal life is the greatest thing

you can do for themIf a neighbour or friend had a disease and you knew the cure you would not withhold it - why do it with the peace, grace, love and eternal life God offers?Acts 4:12 - Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved.”Everybody needs Jesus


Your mission has eternal significance

The eternal destiny of people rests on you - your mission has consequences that last foreverJohn 14:9 We must quickly carry out the tasks assigned us by the one who sent us. The night is coming, and then no one can work.Continually look for opportunities - the clock is ticking


Your mission gives your life meaning

Only the KOG will last forever - the fruit of worship, fellowship, spiritual growth, ministry and mission will last forever - nothing else will.Acts 20:24 However, I consider my life worth nothing to me; my only aim is to finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me—the task of testifying to the good news of God’s grace.

When will the 2nd coming take place? We don’t know - Acts 1:7-8 He said to them: “It is not for you to know the times or dates the Father has set by his own authority. But you wi& receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you wi& be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in a& Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”


Matt 24: 36 “But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.Matt 24:14 And this gospel of the kingdom wi& be preached in the whole world as a testimony to a& nations, and then the end wi& come.Don’t get distracted - press on Jesus replied, “No one who puts a hand to the plow and looks back is fit for service in the kingdom of God.”


What it costs to fulfill your mission

It’s simple - abandon your agenda and get onto God’s agendaNo more “God bless what I do”Rom 6:13 Do not offer any part of yourself to sin as an instrument of wickedness, but rather offer yourselves to God as those who have been brought !om death to life; and offer every part of yourself to him as an instrument of righteousness.
