Rick Lyon Puppet Conception and Design Rick created all of the Avenue Q puppets, and originated the roles of Nicky/Trekkie/Bear in the original Broadway cast. Rick’s company, the Lyon Puppets, has constructed the puppets for Avenue Q Off-Broadway, on Broadway, for Las Vegas, London, the first American national tour, Mexico, Brazil and Australia - well over 200 puppets so far. Rick also consulted on and trained puppeteers for productions of Avenue Q in Sweden, Finland and Mexico. Rick gratefully acknowledges the inspiration and encouragement of the late Jim Henson. Work as an art director includes: the film The Secret Lives of Dentists and HBO’s Sex and the City. Mirena Rada Costume Designer Mirena Rada is a versatile costume designer whose work spans theatre, film, circus, dance and special events. After receiving her MFA in Costume Design from New York University (where she subsequently taught), Mirena designed Off- and On-Broadway (including Tony Award-winning Best Musical Avenue Q and Big Apple Circus), earning her a 2004 TDF Young Master Award. Currently living in Los Angeles, Mirena has been working primarily for Disney, designing for Tokyo Disneyland and Disneyland’s California Adventure Park, as well as assisting on the film Enchanted. Besides the West End production of Avenue Q, Mirena designed the costumes for the recent UK tour of SpongeBob SquarePants, the Musical. In the West End he designed: She Loves Me, Romance Romance, Fame, Crazy for You, The Pajama Game, Stepping Out - The Musical, The Secret Garden, Grand Hotel (Donmar); Sinatra and Guys and Dolls for which he received a Olivier Best Sound Design nomination in 2006. He co-designed, with Nick Lidster, the Donmar production of Parade for which they were nominated for 2008 Olivier Award for Best Sound Design; they designed the UK tour of Sinatra; the English National Opera production of Candide; the Old Vic production of Cinderella; Imagine This, New London Theatre; Passion at the Donmar and Lend Me a Tenor in Plymouth. He recently co -designed with Avgoustos Psillas, the UK tour of Spamalot.
