TRANSCRIPT
‘A unique venue for Companies who are seeking somewhere inspiring to hold
meetings, presentations or product launches.’
‘Twice a year Reed Exhibitions holds a Company Briefing at Richmond Theatre for
approximately 300 staff. The theatre is an ideal venue. It is more spacious and less
formal than a Hotel or Business Centre venue and creates a relaxed and informal
feel. The theatre staff are, without exception, helpful and professional. They always
respond efficiently and promptly to any requests, even those that fall outside their
normal remit and work well around any constraints of the incumbent performance.’
Angie Bunting, Reed Exhibitions

filming and Photo shootsRichmond Theatre has been chosen as a location for many exciting filming and photo shoot projects including Evita (1996), Finding Neverland (2004), and Fortnum and Mason Christmas Hamper Catalogue (2011).
As one of the most completely preserved Matcham theatres in Greater London, Richmond Theatre is a stunning location to film in and is just a stone’s throw from other beautiful settings such as Richmond Green, the Thames and Richmond Park.
• For further information, please contact Keri Jenkins, Administrator (by emailing [email protected] or calling 020 8332 4503) to book a tour of the theatre.
• The auditorium is occasionally dark. We are able to be more flexible with what and where you can film during dark days. With the permission of our visiting companies, it is sometimes possible for filming to happen alongside a production’s set.
• Contact Richmond’s council (by emailing [email protected] or calling 020 8487 5157) to find out more about filming in Richmond-Upon-Thames.
• We charge a location fee of £250 per hour plus VAT and can provide equipment hire and technical support at an extra cost.

civil ceremonies Couples choose to tie-the-knot at Richmond Theatre for a civil ceremony with a difference. The lighting is dimmed, the couple make a glamourous entrance down the theatre’s aisle and then they say ‘I do’ in a truly spectacular setting. They can choose to either conduct the ceremony on the floor just in front of the stage where the registrar’s table is set up or to stand on the stage in front of the red curtains and spotlight. As an alternative to the red curtains as a backdrop, couples may be able to obtain permission from the visiting production company in order to exchange their vows on the set itself. The set is revealed during the week of the wedding and has previously ranged from a beautiful country garden scene to a set for a First World War play complete with muddy trenches.
• Ceremonies are usually held on Fridays before 5pm.
• Although the auditorium can hold up to 864, smaller parties are also very comfortably arranged in a semi circle around the registry table in the Stalls.
• A separate room is made available for pre-marriage questioning by the registrar.
• Music systems can be provided as can special lighting – this will incur an additional charge.
• The theatre can provide buffets, canapés and beverages for wedding receptions, in either the Matcham Room or the Dress Circle Bar, for up to 60 people.
• It is essential that couples make an advance booking with the Superintendent Registrar for the district (1 Spring Terrace, Richmond, Surrey, TW9 1LW, [email protected]) for his/her attendance at their proposed marriage as soon as a booking can be accepted. The couple will also have to give notice of marriage to the Superintendent Registrar(s) of the district(s) in which they live.
• The Auditorium cost for civil ceremonies is £1000.
