What an exciting time it is to be in the cattle industry, the future looks bright and all signs point towards more rewarding times in agriculture. Being a family run operation we take great pride in our cattle and strive to raise the best for the industry. We are very proud of our offering this year and feel even more privelidged to be your herd bull source. Come early to view the bulls, herd sires and the powerful brood cows that raise them. Enjoy coffee & donuts all morning and a lunch prior to the sale. We will have updated weights and testicle measurements available sale day. Times are forever moving forward; there has been a few changes take place this year for the Ranch; Stan and Sheila have moved off of the farm to Okotoks and plan to spend even more time south of the border and we wish them the best. As the third generation wanders off to full retirement, the fifth generation gears up full speed ahead. We are excited to anounce the engagement of Samantha & Brandon Nemetz. We couldn’t be happier that both our girls have been such a big part of it all and are making plans to continue on here at the ranch. Welcome to the Family Brandon!

Semen Testing: All Bulls have been tested, measured, and palpated through the Stettler Vetrinary Clinic. Vaccination Programs: All Cattle are on the Phizer Bovi-Shield Gold program, they have been Ivomeced and Covexin Plus Boostered. Delivery Program:Bulls will be delivered free of charge to central points in Western Canada. For cattle going to Eastern Canada or the US we will arrange trucking at minimal cost. If this delivery time is not convenient for the buyer, bulls will be kept free of charge and the buyer can pick-up the bull at the buyer’s covenience. Jr. Incentive Program: Offering %10 off to any Junior member on the purchase of any purebred female.Feed Program: All of the cattle here at Richmond Ranch are raised ranch style for Long term SucceSS. The bulls are fed a good growing ration of silage, chopped hay, and a Masterfeeds pellet at 1% of their body weight. This system allows us to grow the bulls to seek the performance while maintaining their natural muscle shape. This was my second year getting to work with the great people at Richmond Ranch. As I get to know Jim and Stephanie more, I see the great attention to detail they put into their operation. This year along with a balance of forages they are using a bull ration pellet from Masterfeeds. This DG Bull ration pellet is formulated to fulfill the nutritional requirements of these developing bulls. Based around the use of corn distillers, this ration is highly digestible while not burning the cattle out in anyway. Soya meal is added as a natural protein source. A complete balance of vitamins and minerals, key additives like ZinPro (chelated Zinc) are added for improved hoof integrity. Along with proper bunk management these bulls are fed to be fleshy but not fat. Longevity and fertility…. What more can I say.

For the past 15 years I have had the privilege to be the auctioneer for this prestigious event. We have seen many changes in that time in the Richmond program, including a significant increase in numbers of bulls on offer, as well as the inception of a second breed. One thing that has always remained the same though is their commitment to produce you the best seed stock possible. The Richmond name is one that always comes up when talking about superior seed stock in the Limousin world, and will no doubt become a household name in the Angus world as well. Their attetion to detail and no cutting corners is very evident when you tour this great herd. I always maintain that a good herd bull is the cheapest investment you will make, maybe even that much more so now, when you look at todays’ commercial market. When feeder cattle and cull bulls or cows are bringing the money they are it is very easy to justify reaching in a bit deeper to purchase the cattle that will add the most dollars to your paycheque, but also avance your own operation for years to come. I encourage you to make the effort to attend this sale but if you are unable to be there feel free to contact the Richmonds, myself or any of the sale staff to help you out sale day. CBC’s New Series Premiere “Of All Places” We are very excited that our family got to be a part of this one of a kind experience. Watch for the premiere this summer on CBC “Of All Places” starring Comedian Jonny Harris. Harris is on a mission to find humour in, well, the funniest of places. He’s taking a journey across Canada to explore small towns on the ropes and to meet the people who remain fiercely proud to call these towns home. By immersing hiself in the adventure of their everyday lives, Jonny comes to understand their passion for these places. In each community, he mines enough material to put on an original stand-up comedy routine for the locals. In the process, he shows us that no matter what types of hardships people may face in this vast country, Canadans love to laugh at themselves.ALA Field Day On behalf of the Alberta Limousin Association I would like to extend a thank you to everyone who came and took part in the 2nd Annual ALA Field Day Saturday June 14th that took place in Erskine, Stettler and Rumsey this year. A big thank you to all of those who sponsored a table at the event or donated a door prize, your generosity is greatly appreciated! We gathered almost 80 people for a full day of touring through three purebred Limousin Herds including Combest Limousin, Imperial Ranch and Richmond Ranch. The evening brought on an eventful night of good “Funny Money” casino fun with lots of prizes, a steak supper, and our annual ALA Calendar Auction. Thank you to everyone who bid/purchased a page. LIMOUSIN 2Yr BULLS This Stout set of 2 yr olds were born on grass in May. Under these calving conditions, calving ease, mothering ability, and good udders are essential. These bulls are weaned off in December, and are back-grounded until the grass greens up. After being on pasture all summer long, the bulls are wintered on a high roughage silage ration. We feel that our bulls are managed for optimum Longevity.

Over the last 30 years we have been shaping our herd for SucceSS . Starting with powerful herd sires that stick to the basics of “BEEF” thick & naturally fleshing. Culling strongly for “do it themselves Ranch Cows” that graze the hills

and bring in the profits! This April/May calving herd is made up of true do it themselves Ranch

Cows that calve on grass 2-3 miles from home, so calving ease and mothering ability are essential.

With strict attention to consistency, fertility, longevity, calving ease, udders, feet & legs, we

have reached a point where the herd quality has come together on all ends. We have developed a

fabulous set of Working Ranch cows.

These bred heifers were chosen out of our replacement pen and we feel they are just that!
