What about the Future?
• HP Labs: Extending the DSpace information model for preservation‒ http://wiki.dspace.org/index.php/HpPositionPaper
• DSpace@Cambridge: digital preservation tools and strategies‒ http://www.lib.cam.ac.uk/dspace/
• MIT: DSpace Submission Form Customisation• + much much more…
‒ http://wiki.dspace.org/index.php/DspaceProjects
The general objective is to produce a more advanced modular architecture for DSpace 2.x which will allow modules, including submission and workflow modules to be easily pluggable.

DSpace Submission Form Customisation
Support the customisation of metadata submission forms on a per collection basis by means of an XML configuration file
<input-forms><form-maps>
maps collection id to unique names of form-definitions</form-maps>
<form-definitions>define the fields for the default form set
</form-definitions>
<form-value-pairs>the default dropdown lists, and any custom dropdownlists (e.g. languages; types of items submitted; etc.)
</form-value-pairs></input-forms>
