Endow: Study Group for Women Endow is a Catholic educational program that brings wom-en together to discover their God-given dignity and feminin-ity through the richness and authenticity of Catholic teach-ing. In a small group setting, we will gather as women to connect in faith and friendship, as well as to pray, study, and learn more about the teachings of the Church. The first study group will be on Pope Saint John Paul II’s Letter to Women, which speaks to the special role women play in transforming the family, the Church, and the world. We will meet every other Satur-day morning at 8:30 am (or immediately following the 8:00am Mass) in the Parish Center Meeting Room begin-ning on Saturday, February 6, 2016. The registration fee, which includes all the materials you will need for this study, is $19.95, plus shipping costs. No homework is re-quired – you just have to show up! Human Concerns Announcements

Our Patron Saint Bridget of Kildare (c. 451–525), also known as Brigit of Ireland, is one of Ireland's patron saints along with Patrick and Columba. Her name is also variously spelled as Brigid, Brigit, Bridgit, Bríd, and Bride and she is sometimes known as Mary of the Gael. Irish hagiography makes her an early Irish Christian nun, abbess, and founder of several monasteries of nuns, including that of Kildare in Ireland, which was considered legendary and was highly revered. Her feast day is 1 February. She loved the poor and would often bring food and clothing to them. One day she gave away a whole pail of milk, and then began to worry about what her mother would say. She prayed to the Lord to make up for what she had given away. When she got home, her pail was full! - Unless you have founded a monastery or two I would not try this one at home folks. :)

Start Lent by taking time to pray - Centering or contemplative prayer, is prayer in which we experience God's presence within us, closer than breathing, closer than thinking, closer than consciousness itself. This method of prayer is both a relationship with God and a discipline to foster that relationship. Join Sr. Kathy Persson and Paul Amrhein as your guides starting February 17 (there will be no centering prayer Feb 10) and each following Wednesday at 4 – 4:30 in the Murphy Conference Room. Please register with Paul Amrhein at 525-7902 or [email protected], thank you. "Be still and know that I am God." Psalm 46:10

BeFriender Ministry is a national, ecumenical organization that provides leadership training for a listening ministry of lay pastoral care always in strictest confidence. BeFrienders provide pastoral care for people in transitional situations. They are trained lay volunteers who extend the care of a faith community. The training for this ministry will help you become a better spouse, parent and friend. If you are interested in attending the training or speaking with one of our current ministers con-tact Paul Amrhein [email protected] or 525-7902.
