The Industry is experiencing unprecedented growth Several hundred manufacturing jobs will be created in
RI in the next few years Training of the manufacturing workforce is difficult in a
manufacturing environment
The Institute will provide hands-on training in an actual production environment (“flight simulator” model)

Implementation Timeline
Phase 1 - Raise $10M for construction and equipment of permanent facility and equipment of an interim training facility. Offer training for Dow and Immunex employees at interim facility
Phase 2 – Training provided at permanent facility for Immunex, Dow and other regional biopharmaceutical manufacturers
