RHI is the EPCM contractor on a project for the construction of an Iron and Steel Casting and Rolling Factory at the Uzbek Metallurgical Plant in Bekabad. On December 25, 2018, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan signed a decree which approved the implementation of this investment project. The plant’s own funds, and loans from the Russian Gazprombank and Credit Suisse of Switzerland, will be directed to the implementation of the project.

The equipment for the project will be supplied by the Italian company, Danieli.

Under the terms of construction, industrial production will have a capacity of one million tons of steel sheets per year, with thicknesses of 2–12 millimeters. The construction period is: 2018-2020.

Rönesans Holding, which is the management company of the Ceyhan Petrochemical Industrial Zone in partnership with the Dutch company, Port of Rotterdam, will play a key role in attracting international investors who will build petrochemical plants in the industrial zone.

The first investment of the Ceyhan Petrochemical Industrial Zone will be a Polypropylene Production Plant which will be launched by a partnership between Rönesans Holding, Algeria’s national energy company Sonatrach, and the South Korean company GS E&C.

RHI will undertake the “C” part of the EPC project; GS E&C will carry out E & P. The plant, which is projected to be completed in 2023, will boast an annual production capacity of 450,000 tons. With a strategic location close to the Yumurtalık Free Zone, which is home to oil and gas pipelines, natural gas conversion and thermal power plants of BOTAŞ, the Ceyhan Petrochemical Industrial Zone will also play a prominent role in exports, thanks to its ease of access to Mersin and Iskenderun ports.

INVESTMENT OF A POLYPROPYLENE PRODUCTION PLANT IN PARTNERSHIP WITH SONATRACH AND GS E&C, TURKEY

The President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, laid the symbolic first stone, thereby making a start to the construction of the casting-rolling complex.

The introductory meeting for the Ceyhan Petrochemical Industrial Zone, which is projected to become Turkey’s global petrochemical hub, was held in Adana on March 24, 2019.

Construction of a Polypropylene production plant in Turkey will be realized by partners RHI and GS E&C

First Milestone

HASSI MESSAOUD CRUDE OIL GATHERING AND PROCESSING FACILITIES PROJECT: SUBSTATION & CONTROL BUILDING MILESTONE COMPLETEDAs of March 31, 2019 the “Ready for Equipment Installation” milestone for the Substation & Control Building was successfully completed for the Hassi Messaoud Crude Oil Gathering and Processing Facilities Project. RHI is responsible for building works of this crude oil separation plant under EPC Contractor JGC (JALG) and the client, Sonatrach.

We have received a letter of gratitude from JGC (JALG) for our continued efforts. This great achievement would not have been possible without the devotion and hard work of our team. The project is planned to be finished early in 2020.

New From the Sites

RAO (RHI-RET Adi Ortaklığı) signed a contract with BOTAS for Kuzey Marmara Underground Storage (UGS) Project Phase-III Project at the beginning of 2018. The project covers drilling of 18 UGS wells in two platforms (DP1 & DP2), drilling two appraisal wells, plugging & abandoning of existing five wells in offshore drilling operations as well as decommissioning of existing platform and old pipe line. Moreover, designing, manufacturing and installation of 2 sets of jackets and topsides, laying 28” pipelines from platform to shore line is rest of offshore operations. On shore constructing New Surface Plant (NSP), laying and connecting land lines of offshore pipeline both to NSP and existing facility.

As per work schedule; the first appraisal well KM- 31 was spudded on February, 4th, 2019. The Jackup GSP SATURN is being utilized in the Project. Drilling services are supplied by SCHLUMBERGER. Drilling activities in KM-31 Well were performed, completed and abandoned according to approved Drilling Program under supervision of RHI Drilling Team without LTA on April, 13th, 2019. GSP SATURN has jack down and moved to the second appraisal well, KM-32. The drilling platform has been positioned, performed pre-load test and raised to drilling position. The rig up is ongoing. Possible Spud Date for KM-32 well is on 19.04.2019.

Everything required for drilling (both personnel and equipment) is located in a port and stocking area which is called “Shorebase”, managed by RHI. Personnel, water, diesel, cement & its additives, drilling fluid chemicals, service tools, drilling tubulars (Drill Collar, Drill Pipe), drilling bits, wellhead, Blowout Preventers (BOP) are stored in stocking area and they are loaded to Supply Boat to be transported to Drilling Unit when needed. Supply Boat sails to Drilling Units and loaded materials are transferred to platform by help of rig winches; unnecessary and/or previous sections’ materials are back loaded to Supply Boat and transported to and offloaded at port. Those materials

are moved to Stocking area; cleaned, maintained and stored for next operation. The Shorebase activity includes waste management. Garbages, drilling cuttings, dump drilling fluid and emptied chemical packages are sent to Shorebase after segregation of wastes according to MARPOL regulations. RHI teams have been working in shifts 24/7.

Following completion of KM-32 well operations, plugging & abandoning of existing five wells on Existing Platform will be performed and then, the existing platform will be decommissioned. DP1 & DP2 jackets and Top Sides will be manufactured on shore in order. DP1 and DP2 jackets will be completed first with an adequate gap in between due to installation periods. After installing and grouting jackets; GSP SATURN will be positioned on DP1 platform and start to drill 9 of UGS wells over the jacket. When the DP2 is ready and installed; the second drilling platform GSP JUPITER will be invited to the project to drill the remaining 9 UGS wells. In this stage; service equipment and personnel will be doubled; Shorebase activities will reach to peak level. Drilling units will temporarily stop to allow installing top sides on top of jackets. Both drilling units will continue and complete their drilling campaigns. Then, Drilling unit will be released and drilling part of the Project will completed.

The first Natural Gas to Gasoline (GTG) production plant project in the world of its scale is about to be completed in the Akhal region of Turkmenistan. On the project, where training is given a high priority, OHS-E training certificates were presented by the OHS-E Team to our Indian and Filipino team members who had successfully completed their work, before they returned to their home countries.

There is very little time left before the GTG plant begins production.

RHI is proud of being a part of this achivment.

The EPC work was awarded to RHI by EPC contractor JGC (JALG) in 2018. The capacity of the finished facilities will be 40,000 bbl/day.

The purpose of recycling is to prevent unnecessary use of resources and to reduce the amount of waste via waste collection at source, separately.

Recycling and reuse of materials such as iron, steel, copper, lead, paper, plastic, rubber, glass, and electronic wastes prevents the depletion of natural resources.
