This season, you can take a walk on the wild side. Our photographic exhibition Herdwick: a Portrait of Lakeland and our free sheep trail around the centre, celebrate our much loved native breed of sheep. Special events include meeting Shepherdesses Laura and Hannah and learning about life on the farm, having a go at feltmaking, learning some wild woodworking skills or trying archery in our Bushcraft sessions. We have a children’s theatre production of David Melling’s Hugless Douglas, the Mad Science Show is back by popular demand as is the Wildlife Photographer of the Year exhibition, alongside which we will show daily on the big screen The Great Apes 3D.

We have a packed Spring programme of fairs and festivals too from antique and vintage fairs to the very first Cumbria Life Home and Garden Show and there is a chance to spark a new hobby at our Knit and Stitch Show or the Spirit of Cumbria Holistic Festival and to discover new foodie treasures at our Easter Food Fair.
