1.GENERAL:

a.Theword“Trainee”shallhereinaftermean"Officer”undergoingAC(DE)basic

course.

b.DuringthecourseofBasictrainingeverytraineewillberequiredtoappearin

Mid-termandfinalexaminationwhichwillbeconductedbytheSSBAcademyin

accordancewithsuchregulationsastheCentralGovernment/Departmentwill

makefrom timetotime.

c.Midterm andfinaltestwillbeconductedin24th and45th weekrespectively

d.BoardofOfficersforMidTerm andfinaltestshallbedetailedbyTraining

DirectorateforwhichthecommunicationshallbemadebytheDirector,SSB

Academy.

e.Traineewillberequiredtoobtainminimum of45% ineachsubjectandan

aggregateof50%toqualifythebasictraining.

f.Traineeswhofailinany/allthesubjectsintheMid-term testwillbeputunder

intensivecoachinginthesubjecthe/shehasfailed,re-testedandcounseledby

thecourseDirectorandcoursecounselor.

g.Those trainees,who failto clearthe finalexam in the firstattempt,a

re-examinationwillbeconductedbeforeP.O.P.Atraineewhodoesnotqualify

in any subject/subjects afterre-examination shallnotbe allowed to

participateintheP.O.Pandactionwillbetakenasperrelegationpolicy.

h.Theactualmarksobtainedinthere-examinationwillnotbeincludedinthe

aggregateandtodetermineinter-se-seniority.Onlypasspercentagemarksin

the subject i.e. 45% willbe added in the aggregate to determine

inter-se-seniority.

i.SomeoftheOutdoorsubjectslikePhysicalTraining,DrillandWeaponTraining

haveseveralsub-componentsandexaminationwillbeconductedinallsuch

1. 100markswillbeawardedtothetraineesforAssessmentduringtheperiodoftheir

trainingintheAcademy.

2. Sincealmost6%ofthetotalmarkshavebeenassignedforinternalAssessment,itis,

therefore,necessarytoensurethatthesystem ofAssessmentisobjective.

3. TheAssessmentwillbewrittenattheconclusionofthetraining.MarksforAssessment

RELEGATIONPOLICYFORAC(DE)COURSE

1.(a)Ifatraineefailsinanyofthesubject/subjectsinfinalterm testhewillbere-examinedinthesubject(s)inwhichhehasfailed.There-testwillbeconducted02(two)weeksbeforepassingoutparadeaftergivingextracoaching.Ifthetraineeisunabletopassinre-testhewillberelegatedforaperiodof90daysandagainwillbetestedwithinthisperiodinthesubjectsinwhichhe/shefailed.

(b)Afterrelegation,atraineewillberetainedatSSBAcademyfor3(three)monthsandintensivecoachingwillbegivenbeforere-testifhehasfailedinanyofthefollowingsubjects.(i) Physicaltraining

(e)Aftergivingthetrainee/traineesonemorechanceasper1(b)and1(c),ifhe/sheagainfailstoqualifyinthere-testhewillbetreatedas'failed'inthebasiccourse.FurtheractionwillbeinitiatedbyDG,SSBwiththegeneralguidelinesonprobationissuedfromtimetotimeforhisremoval/dischargeetc.asthecasemaybefromtheForce,asheisunlikelytobecomeanefficientmemberoftheForce.

2.(a)Incaseatraineefailstoqualifyinanyorallthesubjectsduetosicknessorinjurynotattributabletotraining,actionwillbetakenaspara1(b)andpara2(c).

(b)However,incaseofinjurysustainedduringthecourseoftrainingandwheretheperiodofabsencefrom indoor/outdooractivitiesdoesnotexceed30workingdays(300periods),thefollowingactionshallbetaken.

i) Wheretheperformanceoftraineeofficerintheterm testsi.e.,Mid-term and

periodicaltestshasbeengraded‘VeryGood’orabove,Director,SSBAcademy

basedontherecommendationsoftheCommandant(Trg)andCourseDirector,can

declarehim qualifiedinthesubjectwiththeminimum passingmarks(45%)based

onhispastperformance.

ii)WheretheperformanceofthetraineeintheMid-Term andperiodicaltestshas

beengraded‘Good’,thediscretiontorelegatethetraineeortoallowthetrainee

appearinthetesttwoweeksbeforethepassingoutparadeorrelegatinghimfor03

months,restswiththeDirector,SSBAcademy.

(c)Incaseatraineesuffersmajorinjuryandremainsabsentforaperiodmorethan30

days(300periods),hewillbeprovidedtreatmentforasufficientreasonableperiod

andwhen,evenafterthetreatmentif,ortheailmentinwhichheissufferingfromis

foundtobeincurable,actiontoboardhimoutonmedicalgroundsmaybeinitiated

bytheDG,SSBonrecommendationsofDirectorSSBAcademy.

(d)However,iftheinjuryorailmentisnotthatseriousbutthetreatmentkeepshim

awayfrom trainingfordurationmorethan30workingdays,histrainingmaybe

discontinuedandthetraineebeallowedtojointrainingwiththenextbatch.The

Director, SSB Academy may take decision considering the facts and

circumstancesofeachcase,ifnecessary,inconsultationwithMedicalAuthority.

Duringtheinterveningperiod,thetraineemaybepostedtoanybattalionfor

Administrativedutiesandhisperiodofprobationcanbeextended,ifrequired.

Thusanytraineeofficerwhoseabsencefrom trainingonaccountofillness/leave

etcexceeds30workingdays,willberelegatedtothenextbatch.Theseniorityof

suchtraineewillbereckonedatthebottom ofhisownbatch.

3.During thecourseofthetraining ifanytraineeofficerindulgesin committing

misconductorisfoundguiltyofanyactofgrossindisciplineorinsubordination,moral

turpitudeorfailstoactaspertheorder,disobeysorabsentfrom theduty,andthatallis

prejudicialtothegoodorderanddisciplineoftheForceandsuchactafterbeingduly

inquiredandinvestigatedbycompetentBoardofOfficerisprovedbeyondreasonable

doubt,theDirector,SSBAcademymayawardsuchpunishmentaspertheexisting

Rules/Actandrelevantprovisionswithgeneralguidelinesontheprobationissuedfrom

timetotimebycompetentauthority.

4.GrantofLeaveduringAC(DE)Course:

(a)Notmorethan02timesduringtraining,i.e.notmorethan04x02=08daysforcompetitive examinations but only after NOC from competent authority ispre-obtainedorpersonhasappliedforsaidexaminationbeforejoiningserviceandalsointimatedtocompetentauthorityimmediatelyafterjoiningSSB.

(b)Upto08daysleaveinonestretchcanbegrantedonextremecompassionateground(Specialcase).(Totalleavedurationtrainingperiodshouldnotmorethan08daysincludingpermissions)

(c)Themaximum absentperiodfrom training,shouldnotbemorethan30workingdaysduetoanyleave,medical/sicknessetc)
