Loosely cast on 88 stitches. Join to knit in the round. Place stitch marker at the beginning of the round. K2P2 all the way around. Continue in K2P2 ribbing until garment is 3.5” long. First decrease row: Place stitch markers every 22 stitches. K2P2 to 2 stitches before each marker and k2tog. Complete round in this manner. K2P2 for two rows. Second decrease row: K2P2 to 2 stitches before marker and p2tog. Continue round in this manner. K2P2 for two rows. Third decrease row: K2P2 to 2 stitches before marker and k2tog. Continue round in this manner. K2P2 for two rows. Fourth decrease row: K2P2 to 2 stitches before marker and p2tog. Continue round in this manner. You will now have 72 stitches on your needles. K2P2 until garment is 10” long (or desired body length). --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------   Bind off 52st. This will leave 20st on your needles. Knit remaining 20 stitches in K2P2. Loosely cast on 20st using the backward loop method and join in the round. You will now have a total of 40st. K2P2 in round for 2” to create neckband. Bind off loosely so that it can stretch enough to fit over your kitty’s head. Weave in your ends.
