N.K.No:1756/Dated: 3.10.2018

Sir,

Subject: Regarding - Ariyalur District, Sendurai Taluk, Anadavadi Village, 110.68.5 hectares of public and private wastelands undergoing mineral mining activities - wildlife sanctuary, national parks and wildlife pathways - and their report.

Aspect 1) Tamil Nadu Cement Corporation Limited, Ariyalur N.K.No. TANCEM/ACW/KLSM/GEO/149/2015 Dated: 26.07.2018

2) District Forest Officer, Ariyalur Field Audit Date: 03.09.2018

3) G.O.Ms.No.624 Industry (MMA2) Dated: 23.09.2018

********************

The Overview of the above mentioned subject of Tamil Nadu Cement Corporation Limited and The Forest Department's opinion about Ariyalur's letter are as follows: As mentioned above Tamil Nadu Cement Corporation Limited, Ariyalur organization's limestone mining activity is to be held in 110.68.5 hectares of public and private wastelands of Anadavadi Village. There are no wildlife sanctuaries, national parks or wildlife pathways located within 10 k.m. radius of that area.

1) The District Administration / Mineral Resources Department should ensure that the quarry lease approval is acquired and determine the area of 110.68.5 hectares of Ariyalur District, Sendurai Taluk, Anadavadi Village for quarrying and ensure that the quarrying is done only within the permissible area of the Mineral Resources Permit.

2) Since the above mentioned field requesting for quarry lease permission is located on the periphery of the Vinnangkurichi Kaappukadu, it should be ensured that there is no violation in the Kaappukadu during the mining activities. 3) Since the above mentioned field requesting for quarry lease permission is located on the periphery of the Vinnangkurichi Kaappukadu, as per the standing orders of the Board of Revenue - Volume-I Section III, sub section 38(III), during the mining process in the mining area, Tamil Nadu Cement Corporation Limited has to adhere to the following requirement that the mining should be done at least 60 meters (3 Chain) away from the Kaappukkadu region. If this condition is not followed, the authorization certificate of forestry will be canceled. 4) The wastes produced during the mining work should not be stored in the above mentioned 60 meters (3 Chain) region. 5) In the selected area for the mining work i.e. 110.68.5 hectares of Public and Private waste lands of Anadavadi Village near Vinnangkurichi Kaappukadu region, a wire fence or security wall should be built. 6) During mining work of limestone in 110.68.5 hectares of public and private wastelands of Anadavadi Village, at least 10,000 saplings of Beech and Neem should be planted and the viridity should be maintained to reduce the impact of noise and air pollution. 7) The District Administration / Mineral Resources Department should ensure to maintain the regulations of G.O. (Level) No.79 Industry (Mineral 1) dated: 06.04.2015 8) There should not be any residence located within 300 meters of the quarrying region. 9) The necessary action must be taken to ensure that the water released during mining work should not be stagnant in the ground for a long period of time to control the water pollution.

Yours faithfully,

District Forest Officer,

Ariyalur Forest Division,

Ariyalur.
