Dirt passes between the profiles and fallsthrough into the matwell. The mat can berolled up for the area to be cleaned.

Regular maintenance is required so the Romatremains effective. Normal daily soiling can bedealt with using a suction vacuum cleaner. A2000 Watt model will give better results thana lower powered model. The use of rubberbladed wet floor tool attachment shouldincrease the effectiveness of the cleaning.

Periodic maintenance

Best results can be achieved by the periodicuse of a spray extraction carpet cleaningmachine.The use of a mild detergent (neutral pH)cleaning solution in the carpet cleaningmachine shouldloosen ingrained soiling and aid the removal ofoils and grease. More stubborn stains shouldbetreated a solvent based spot remover prior tore-cleaning with the detergent solution.Chewing Gum can be removed by freezespraying or with a proprietary chewing gumremover andthen scraped or combed out of the mattingcarpet pile. This should be done before the fullcleaningprocess is started.

Installation Instructions

Step 1

Entrance Matting Systems typically require a recess inwhich to lie. Although, this can be laid directly on the floorwith Genesis beveled access profile 6114 and Genesiscorner angles 16119 for level adjustment. This recess mustbe of sound condition, level and flat.

Mat well Frame Installation

To create a clean division between Entrance Matting andsurrounding floor coverings,Genesis matwell frame 6113with Genesis corner angles 161104 and feet 161103 isused. The frame is available in different heights andshould be set in place to the surround of the recess andthen secured with screw fixings, ensuring the top edge isflush with finished floor level on all sides.

Step 2

After the framing has been secured in place to thesurround of the recess, the base must be brought up tosuit the exact thickness of the matting. This preparationmust provide a smooth level base that will ensure thematting sits flat and remains stable under the heavy foottraffic applicable to the application once trafficked. Latexis used in most locations, providing an excellent substratethat can be self leveled to an exact depth. Where thiscannot be used, materials such as ply or rubber sheetingcan be used.

Matting Installation

It is essential that the final matting installation ifcompetently carried out, and there are two typicalmethods:1. The matting is cut in the factory, to an exact size orshape, and simply drops into place on site. For this to bepossible, it is critical that dimensions are accurate, andtemplates are provided for any shaped areas using asuitable material.2. ?Dimensions are taken on site, matting is producedslightly oversize and cut to suit the exact matwell areas bycompetent persons on site. This method is recommended,as it allows rapid production and accurate installation.

Generally aluminium matting should be installed with asmall tolerance to the surround, to allow for expansionwith temperature variation. PVC matting systems shouldbe fitted tight to the matwell surround. Exact installationdetail varies between products, and should be confirmedat time of order.
