PRICESLIST PRICES, TERMS AND CONDITIONS contained hereinsupersede any and all prices, terms and conditions shown inprevious lists. PRICES ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGEWITHOUT NOTICE. Errors and omissions are subject tocorrection. All prices shown, unless otherwise indicated, arelist prices and subject to the discount agreed upon at thetime of ordering. Prices are subject to all applicable salestaxes, unless otherwise indicated. A MINIMUM CHARGE PERINVOICE IS $25.00. Please note, this charge will be strictlyenforced.

CREDITCredit will be extended only to established and approvedaccounts.Accounts will only be established for those companies whointend to purchase on an ongoing regular basis. All otherpurchases will be C.O.D.Normal credit checks take approximately two to three weeksand will not be initiated until an initial order is placed.Purchases made during this time will be C.O.D., unlessarrangements are made with our credit department BEFOREPLACING ORDERS.

PAYMENT TERMSTerms of payment for established credit accounts are:Net 30 Days from date of invoice unless otherwise stipulatedIN WRITING by Vinyl Window Designs Ltd. 2 1/2% interestper month (31.2% per annum) will be charged on all accountsover 30 days.

FAILURE TO FULFILL TERMSShould the Purchaser at any time fail to fulfill the terms ofpayment described under PAYMENT TERMS, or any specialpayment arrangements, Vinyl Window Designs may deferfurther shipments until such payments are made, or at itsoption, cancel any unshipped orders or back orders withoutprejudice to any right Vinyl Window Designs may have againstthe Purchaser. Vinyl Window Designs also reserves the rightto ask for and demand from the Purchaser, satisfactorysecurity for the due performance of the Purchaser’sobligations.

ORDERS FOR NON-STANDARD SIZE PRODUCTS must be accompanied by a 50% deposit, unless the accounthas been established by our credit department.ORDERS FOR CUSTOM SIZE PRODUCTS ARE NON-CANCELLABLE ONCE FABRICATION HAS BEGUN.

WARRANTY AND SERVICESee written warranty in force at time of ordering.

GLASS BREAKAGE OF ANY KIND IS NOT COVERED BYTHIS WARRANTY.

While Vinyl Window Designs Ltd. warrants its products, itcannot warrant installation by others. This warrantyaccordingly will be voided by any installation which doesnot comply fully with Vinyl Window Designs installationinstructions.

Any warranty problems must be reported by the selling dealerwithin the warranty period and on Vinyl Window DesignsService Report form. Warranty work will be rectified byreplacement or repairs as per the warranty in force. A properlycompleted Service Report will ensure prompt action on yourservice request. In no event shall Vinyl Window Designs Ltd.be liable for special, indirect, incidental or consequentialdamages.

Service work and inspection will be carried out on a “firstcome, first served” basis when reported in writing to ourservice department.A fee of $65.00/hr. will be charged for any inspectiondetermined not to be the responsibility of Vinyl WindowDesigns Ltd.Where parts and/or repairs not covered under warranty arerequired, terms will be payment upon completion of saidwork.

SHIPPINGAll prices shown are FOB Vinyl Window Designs plant inWoodbridge, Ontario, unless otherwise arranged. WhenShipping Instructions Have Not Been Specified, VinylWindow Designs Reserves the Right to Select the Routeand Method of Shipment.

Under no circumstances can shipments be sent by commoncarrier on a prepaid basis. Customers must establish theirown “Collect” credit arrangements with carriers servicing theirroutes. All common carrier shipments, either by thePurchaser’s request or Vinyl Window Designs Ltd’s option,are at the consignee’s risk of breakage and/or damage.Therefore All Claims for Breakage and/or Damage AreBetween the Carrier and the Consignee. All CommonCarrier shipments must be crated. A nominal charge will belevied for this service (see Packaging charges - this section)

When arrangements have been made to pick up productsfrom our warehouse, customers are requested to have theirtrucks properly equipped with ropes and cardboard, as wellas a glass rack. Our staff has been instructed to be as helpfulas possible at all times. We do, however, reserve the right torefuse to load customer’s vehicles that are not properlyequipped.

TIMES FOR PICK UP are between the hours of 8:00 am and4:30 p.m. Monday to Friday, unless specific arrangementsare made with the sales department. All products, eitherpicked-up or delivered, must be thoroughly inspectedbefore signing our shipping order. Your signature indicatesacceptance of the product and will exempt Vinyl WindowDesigns Ltd from any further liability with regards to brokenglass, paint scratches, screen tears etc, unless such is notedon the shipping order. All repair work will be done at currentprices.

CLAIMSShortages must be reported to our office, along with allpertinent documents, within three (3) working days. Claims forbreakage of goods delivered by common carrier must beplaced against the carrier, with written notice given to ourhead office within three (3) working days.

RETURNSProducts cannot be returned for any reason without WrittenPrior authorisation and a copy of the Vinyl Windows ReturnAuthorisation Form (R.A.F). Customers bringing back productwithout the proper R.A.F will not have said product takenback, nor signed for, by any Vinyl Window Designs Ltdpersonnel, AND NO CREDIT WILL BE ISSUED.

Custom Size Windows and Doors Manufactured to theCustomers Specifications Are Non-Returnable Unless AFabrication Error Or Other Warranty Claim Has Necessitated AReplacement

All standard size products that are returned are subject to a20% handling charge.

PRODUCT CHANGEVinyl Window Designs Ltd products are constantly beingimproved. We reserve the right to change specifications anddesigns without notice. Vinyl Window Designs Ltd assumesno responsibility for your use of or reliance upon outdatedprinted matter and specifications.

PACKAGING CHARGESNormal crating will be done at a minimum charge of $50.00per crate. We will try to pack as many windows as possibleinto each crate, but reserve the right to make the finaldecision as to the number of crates required.

SHOP DRAWINGSShop Drawings, samples or special engineering work are notincluded in the enclosed price list, but will be charged for on aper job basis by quotation in writing, unless otherwisespecified.

QUALITY STANDARDSAll Vinyl Window Designs Ltd products are manufactured tostandard commercial tolerances and will include, at times,slight imperfections in paint, glass and other materials as wellas manufacturing tolerances. Any claims arising from suchimperfections or tolerances will be judged againstGovernment and C.S.A published specifications andaccepted or denied on the basis of such specifications. VinylWindow Designs Ltd Will At No Time Be Held Responsible forClaims Arising Between the Purchaser and His Customer.

ORDERS BY TELEPHONEAll orders taken over the telephone will be mailed to thecustomer to be confirmed. The customer must then mail theorder back to the VWD office before processing. If a customerwishes to continue ordering by phone, they will assume allresponsibility for any error made by either side.

If the resulting Sq Ft is in a range for the particular window(e.g. 9 - 10 sq ft) then the higher size of the range is used forcalculating all square footage options and extras. In this caseit would be 10 sq ft.

PRICING OF SPECIAL SIZE PATIO DOORSSpecial Sizes for Patio Doors are priced by quotation only.

UNAVOIDABLE DELAYSVinyl Window Designs Ltd shall not be responsible for anydamages resulting from or delay due to strikes, fires,accidents, force majeure, inability to procure materials orother causes beyond it’s control and any such delay shall notbe grounds for cancellation of any contract by the customer.

COLLECTION COSTSIn the event that credit has been extended and payment hasnot been received within 30 DAYS after the term indicated inour Order-Invoice, collection costs may be assessed by VinylWindow Designs Ltd. By accepting any or all of themerchandise described in the Order-Invoice, the buyer agreesto assume any collection costs actually incurred as a result ofthe buyer’s default. Such charges will then become a part ofthe original billing.

DEPOSITSIt is expressly agreed that Vinyl Window Designs Ltd willremain the owner of the merchandise sold until full paymentof the purchase price. In the event that the customer fails toaccept delivery of the merchandise hereby ordered, then VinylWindow Designs Ltd shall have the right to retain any depositpaid by the Customer as damages, without prejudice to VinylWindow Designs Ltd’s rights to claim such further damagesas it may have suffered in the circumstances, or at it’s option,claim the entire amount of the purchase price.

SAMPLESWe encourage our dealers to purchase sample windows. Asan added incentive we offer an additional 20% discount onsamples.Hand samples & cross sections are made available at anominal cost of $75.00 net. Showroom stands are offered byVWD complete with VWD signage at a cost of $400.00 net perdisplay stand.

MEASURING AND ADJUSTMENTSWindows are manufactured to 1/8" in width & height. e.g. Width 27 1/8, 27 1/4 etc. Height 52 1/8, 52 1/4 etc.

Width: Measure between jambs at top, middle & bottom.Use the Smallest Measurement.

Height: Measure between outside sill, at stool and top ofwindow casing. Use The Smallest Measurement.

Overall depth of window is 3 1/4".

FIELD ADJUSTMENT PROCEDURE:ALUMA-TILT BALANCE

If for some reason your windows require adjustment, such as asash drooping, or hopping up from the sill, or if the spiral rod isdisengaged the adjustment is simple.

STEP #1: Tilt sash downward to expose the balance tilt shoe.Disengage the balance rod from the tilt shoe. Be careful not toallow the rod to “spin off” or disconnect from the tensioningrod. (See Diagram 1)

STEP #2: If sash is dropping, adjust the tension by rotating the balance clockwise. Apply tension to both sides equally. Do not exceed more than 2 full turns at a time. Reconnect therod to the tilt shoe. Reposition the sash and check operation.If additional tension is required, repeat the process until thesash holds in any position.

STEP #3: If the sash is hopping, less tension is required.Release the tension equally on both sides by allowing the

Tensioning tool to rotate counter clockwise for 1 or 2 full turns.Reconnect the rod to the pivot shoe. Reposition the sash andcheck operation. Repeat process if necessary.

STEP # 4: If the rod is disconnected from the pivot shoe,apply tension to both sides equally, not exceeding 4 full turnsat a time. (See Diagram 2)

IMPORTANTBefore tilting lower sash, make sure that sash israised at least 3" off sill.

1. Rotate rod slightlyto the right.

2. At the same timepull rod downward.

3. Slip rod awayfrom the pivitlock shoe.

Before removing the old window please CHECK thefollowing:

• The new window is the Right Size

• The new window is what you ordered

• There is no visible damage or faults

It is easier to correct a problem before the window isinstalled in a customer’s home.

On Double Hung Windows over 36” High you will find anextra shipping strap at the centre of the window. Do NotRemove this Strap Until the Window is Shimmed inPlace This will prevent the Jambs from bowing out andallowing the pivot bars to “Jump” out of the shoes.

Make Sure All Openings Are Square and Plumb BeforeSetting Window in Place

Do Not Force the Window Into An Opening That is TooSmall.

• Sill must be level and properly supported

• Measure inside frame dimensions and shim accordinglyuntil dimensions are equal for widths and heights

• Make sure the window is set in place squarely

Pack both sides and head with either loose or rigidinsulation making sure all gaps and voids are filled.This is a must for Optimum Results.

Fasten the window securely through the jambs (and headon large windows) being careful not to tighten down onthe screw so hard that the frame is twisted out of shape.Never Drill Holes Through the Window Sills.

Before applying caulking or final trim, check the windowfor smooth operation and proper fit. If necessary adjustthe tension on double hung sash balances according toour catalogue instruction sheet.

Finishing Trim can now be completed in the usual manner.

REMEMBERIf it doesn’t fit, or you are not sure about something –STOP – and check with our office. A poorly installedwindow will result in an unsatisfactory job and nullificationof the SecurPlus warranty.

WARRANTY & SERVICE WORK

Vinyl Window Designs is responsible for replacing, free of charge, any material which is defective, or whichdoes not conform to product specifications. It is most important that all products be thoroughly inspectedand checked for quality and conformance to that ordered prior to acceptance from Vinyl Window Designs andinstallation in the customer’s home. The cost of correcting a problem before installation is minimal comparedto the cost once the product has been installed.

The Dealer is responsible for the proper installation in the customer’s home. This installation should be donein a professional and workmanlike manner and includes the application of perimeter insulation and caulking toensure a weathertight and watertight installation. Should minor adjustments in the operation of the product berequired, it is the Dealer’s responsibility to make these on-site adjustments.

The Dealer is responsible for ensuring that he or his salesperson is fully familiar with the characteristics ofVinyl Window Designs’ products, so that in presenting his sales proposal to a potential buyer, he does notexaggerate or make misleading statements on the construction, performance or material content of theproduct.

The Dealer is responsible for fully checking out any complaint reported to him. The examination of thecomplaint involves an on-site inspection of the product and installation. Should the inspection reveal that aminor adjustment to the product is required, or that the installation is at fault, the Dealer is responsible formaking the necessary correction. Where the problem is one of faulty workmanship or material, that is notapparent at the time of acceptance of the product, it is Vinyl Window Designs’ responsibility to take thenecessary corrective action.

Service work will only be carried out upon receipt of a proper service request form that is 100% complete,with all information required.

In order to minimize the cost of service calls, and to eliminate those service requests which are not theresponsibility of Vinyl Window Designs, the following steps have been instituted:

A fee of $65.00/hr. will be enforced for any service calls where the problem is installation or productadjustment and is not deemed the responsibility of Vinyl Window Designs.

Service work will not be carried out where an account is not adhering to our payment terms.

GLASS BREAKAGE OF ANY KIND IS NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY

We are certain that you will acknowledge the need for these measures, and that you will take necessary steps tominimize unwarranted service work, which is costly to both your enterprise and ours.

Therefore All Claims for Breakageand/or Damage Are Between the Carrier and the Consignee. AllCommon Carrier shipments must be crated. A nominal charge willbe levied for this service (see Packaging charges - this section)

When arrangements have been made to pick up products from ourwarehouse, customers are requested to have their trucks properlyequipped with ropes and cardboard, as well as a glass rack. Ourstaff has been instructed to be as helpful as possible at all times.We do, however, reserve the right to refuse to load customer’svehicles that are not properly equipped.

TIMES FOR PICK UP are between the hours of 8:00 am and 4:30p.m. Monday to Friday, unless specific arrangements are made withthe sales department. All Products, Either Picked Up OrDelivered, Must Be Thoroughly Inspected Before Signing OurShipping Order. Your signature indicates acceptance of theproduct and will exempt Vinyl Window Designs Ltd from any furtherliability with regards to broken glass, paint scratches, screen tearsetc, unless such is noted on the shipping order. All repair work willbe done at current prices.

CLAIMSShortages must be reported to our office, along with all pertinentdocuments, within three (3) working days. Claims for breakage ofgoods delivered by common carrier must be placed against thecarrier, with written notice given to our head office within three (3)working days.
