FOLLOW THE LEADER

Mimicry is a great teaching tool. From our first game of“Follow the Leader” to corporate training videos welearn by imitating. Watch and then do. It’s not just theeasiest form of training, it’s often the best. Ourcluttered, noisy minds are hushed while the eyes takein information and our bodies simply repeat what wesee. And statistics have proven that this “mindless”repetition yields faster, more efficient results.

Imagine what this can mean in our spiritual life. Pickthe right leader and you’ll follow a godly, righteouspath at an amazing pace. Pick the wrong guide andyou’ll be halfway down the road to perdition beforeyour mind engages. It’s something Jesus warned Hisdisciples about again and again. Leaders are onlyhuman and they can fail just as those who follow do. Toensure we follow the right path we must not merelyopen our eyes, but listen with our spirit and think withthe mind God gave us. And keep watching the besttrainer: Jesus. If we keep our eyes on Him we’ll alwaysbe following the right leader, no matter who’s on theroad directly in front of us.
