Know the footfall count and customer concentration

Videonetics Retail Business Intelligence Suite measures and analyses footfall count and

customer concentration accurately at every gate of the retail store, across hours, days

and weeks. It can also be used to track customer footfalls for different promotional

schemes to gauge their effectiveness. Intelligent analytics presents graphical

summarised statistical comparison, helping you determine busy hours, so you can

serve your customers better by increasing staffing support at such times. An additional

feature allows you to automatically capture the face of each customer entering the store,

and save it with time stamp for any future search of the customer database.

Detect and predict POS queue-length overflow

The Suite's queue overflow detection feature helps you enhance process efficiency and

customer experience by automatically analysing queue regions to determine the

number of people standing in the queue. The system automatically detects when the

queue length exceeds a predefined number of customers and generates an alert.

It generates graphical statistical comparison reports for several days to understand the

business done by various POS counters at different hours of the day, and predicts

likelihood of excessive queue build-up during specific time-bands. This helps you

optimise resource planning, by guiding you regarding how many POS counters are

required during different hours.

Understand customer preferences and behaviour

The Suite monitors customers’ attention to different products and analyses their

behaviour inside the store. Its heat map and merchandising feature automatically

generates a colour-coded ‘heat map’ (a spatiotemporal 2D concentration map) of the

customers in the store, using hundreds of colours on the live camera image. It can provide

you a count of the customers, the length of their stay in a position for more than a given

time, and the number of people who passed through without stopping. By generating

statistical analysis of customers’ attention to the various products displayed on the shelf, it

helps you achieve effective product placement, and efficient deployment of support staff.

Track customers’ movement paths

The Suite observes customer movement paths inside the store and analyses data to

generate several statistical measurements in graphical form. For instance, it can

automatically detect dead zones in the store, where no customer visits during certain

hours, and also analysis of movement patterns of customers in various sections in the

store. You can also get instant dominant path analysis to identify maximum traversed

path between two selected regions. All these measures help you determine business

generated by different aisles inside the store. They also serve as a store management

guide for effective product placement, and sequencing of different product categories.

Get warned about unauthorised people movement

The Suite detects all kinds of possible security threats inside and in the vicinity of retail

premises, based on human behaviour. It generates an instant alarm if anyone is found

trying to go past the RFID sensor activated gate, in case of any wrong directional

movement, or movement within a specified non-operational hour. It also monitors

restricted areas, and sets off instant alarm on detecting suspicious movement, or

unattended baggage. These measures help you secure important areas that deal with

money, data and other valuables. All alerts are accompanied by an image and video of

the detected movement. The Suite periodically generates graphical safety and security

reports that can be used for future analysis and security verifications.

Store and instantly view videos of meaningful events

The Suite extracts important information and indexes it along with video details

intelligently, so that information can be easily searched and retrieved. It generates

statistical reports backed by video evidence, tagging and storing still images and video

clips with every meaningful event. This enables further verification without the hassle of

going through large amounts of video footage. The Suite keeps only meaningful videos

after a specified retention period, as part of its smart storage management.
