Two years after killing off the Maybach brand, Mercedes-Benz is reportedly about to reintroduce the nameplate, this time as a line-topping, longer wheelbase, ultra-luxury S Class for the uber-rich. Costing double the price of a fully loaded Mercedes S600, the Maybach model is expected to be simultaneously introduced this coming November at the Los Angeles Auto Show and Guangzhou Motor Show. According to a Reuters report, it will feature luxuries like âÂÂsoft-touch leather and bespoke materials.â In the spy shots we recently showed you , the Maybach S Class sports epic dimensions, adding about 7.5-inches to the already stretched, long-wheelbase S. In this price range, Mercedes will be taking on some tough competition from well-established luxury brands like Rolls Royce and Bentley . As Reuters points out, since 2012 â when Maybach ceased operations â there are two million new millionaires in the world.
