WORK EXPERIENCE (Total Experience 5 years)

-Working as CAE Engineer (Sr. Analyst) with Whirlpool's Global Technology and Engineering Centre (GTEC), Pune.

-From- 9th May 2011 to 1st July 2012 –Experience 1 Years 2 months worked as a Trainee - Project Engineer.

-From- 2nd July 2012 to till date –Experience 4 Years as Global Project Engineer.

PROFFESSIONAL CERTIFICATION

Hypermesh 12.0 – Altair Engineering, Pune.

Abaqus Basic/Advanced Training – at Pro-Sim R&D Pvt. Ltd., Bangalore.

Ansys Design Modeler- at Ansys India Pvt. Ltd., Pune

Ansys Mechanical (Workbench) - at Ansys India Pvt. Ltd., Pune

Ansys Mechanical APDL – Part 1 and Part 2 - at Ansys India Pvt. Ltd., Pune

Ansys ACT (Application Customisation Toolkit) Training at Ansys India Pvt. Ltd., Pune

Zencrack (Fatigue) Software - at Pro-Sim R&D Pvt. Ltd., Bangalore.

AWARD AND RECOGNITION

Got “The Constellation Award” for support on P2 blender launched in North America. It was collective effort involving structures and simulation team with Global teams.

Got first prize in Ansys Convergence Conference 2015 in Pune for paper under titled “Standardization and Automation of Whirlpool Simulation Methods using ACT” , Whirlpool of India Ltd.(Prepared ‘Fatigue Tool’ by using Ansys Application Customisation Toolkit in Ansys Workbench. It helps to determine the fatigue life of structural components. The main intention of extension to reduce the time of fatigue calculations during static structural analysis).

Got “Star Award” for the simulation support of Castano Oven project launched in Brazil. It was awarded for leading the project along with design suggestions provided within time frame.

TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE AND JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

-Experience in Computer Aided Engineering (CAE) for real world products and able to work in almost all aspects of FEA including Mechanical components and structures.

-Worked on simulation of Portable Appliances like Stand mixer, Hand Mixer, Blenders, Hand blenders, Slow cookers, Soda Streams, Cheetah transmission, Jar blade designs, Ovens, ranges and refrigerators etc.

Page 2: Resume_Nilesh_Joshi_Updated

-Analysis experience in Linear static, Nonlinear static (material, geometry and contacts), Fatigue, Dynamic analysis (mostly Impact analysis), Thermal analysis and Optimizations.

-Accountable for delivering FEA projects independently using Ansys APDL, Workbench 15.0, Hypermesh and LS-Dyna.

-Working on major areas like understanding real world physics, meshing, connections for the whole assembly, defined boundary conditions, defined contacts, deck preparation, error debugging, submitting runs, checking model after completion of run, report preparation and routing and discussion on obtained FEA results with requesters etc.

-Worked on Topology optimization simulations in Altair's Optistruct tool and Solid Thinking Inspire.

-Planning and estimation of project hours and prepare detailed report in Microsoft office tools.

-Experience of data management software – Windchill.

- Effectively and independently communicate with overseas people to suggest design modifications.

PROJECT EXECUTED (Few projects undertaken are listed below)

-Fatigue analysis of blender blade (Tool- Hypermesh and Ansys)

Description – Aim is to determine the fatigue strength of the knob spring. The spring fails almost in 2500 cycles in fatigue test. The fatigue scenario is simulated for baseline design to compare with lab test. Five locators were used to support spring in knob. Number of locators were decreased from 5 to 3 and surface area of middle locator increased. The fatigue life of the spring is increased up to 18000 cycles. Morrow’s stress life theory used to predict the results.

-Coupled field analysis of Blender jar subjected to combine thermal and structural loads (Tool – Ansys Workbench)

Description- Objective is to determine the deflection of base of jar due to combined effect of temperature of water at 1000C and the weight of coupler and water for 10 minutes. The transient thermal analysis is carried out for period of 10 minutes. Results from transient thermal were map in structural analysis. The structural loads with gravity applied to jar.

- Topology Optimisation of Lower housing in stand mixer (Tool – Optistruct)

Description- Goal is to minimize weight of lower housing by using appropriate boundary conditions. The displacement and stress used as a constraint. The lower housing with some additional material considered as raw design. The Design space and nondesign space have been decided. The appropriate boundary conditions along with manufacturing constraints like draw directions and symmetry etc. are applied on the design space. Post processing is done in hyper view 12.0. Element density plots, deflection and stress are the output taken from optistuct.

-Ball impact of Rotary switch from 7 inches height (Tool- Hypermesh, LS-dyna )

Description- Aim is to determine strength of lever and different components of rotary switch used in stand mixer during ball impact. The steel ball of diameter 50.8 mm dropped from a height of 7 inches on rotary switch. The internal energy in the model reaches up to 1.02 Joules similar to test lab. The FEA results extracted at point where energy stabilization occurs.

-Knee test simulation on Castaño Oven (Tool- Hypermesh and Ansys )

Description- Aim is to determine strength of chasses and outer panels of the oven for knee test. The Product is mesh with shell mesh and connections are modelled with spot welds and screw connections. The chassis is inclined at 45 0

and load is applied against knee. Frictional contact is defined between chassis and knee. The deflection and stresses on the chassis are recorded and suggest design change for the panel to lower the deflection.

-Door sag simulation on oven (Tool- Hypermesh and Ansys)

-Oven rack deflection nonlinear analysis (Tool- Hypermesh and Ansys )

-Handle strength analysis of Oven (Tool- Hypermesh and Ansys)
