This matched with the 10 years’ experience in adult learning in the corporate sector has led me to the conclusion that teaching people, how to learn is more important than teaching them what to learn. This has been my goal for the last two or three years. The future of learning will be teaching students to use the different digital resources and tools to match their particular learning style to make their teaching experience a self-directed one. The role of the teacher has changed to one of learning facilitator rather than a source of knowledge. Matching the correct style and method of teaching to the students preferred style and then guiding them along a path of self-directed continuous learning. This will enable students to develop resilience and personal skills that will allow them to overcome all future learning obstacles.
