Angiography/Sedation RN Interventional Radiology
Sedate, monitor and provide nursing interventions to patients during radiology exams and procedures including stroke clot retrievals, IVC filters, thrombolysis, embolism, guided chemotherapy placement, thrombolytic therapy, central line placement, CT guided biopsy procedures and MRI’s.
Originated the concept, created and presented education curriculum to convert IR to AORN standards. This brought IR policy into alignment with the Main OR and Surgical Outpatient. This idea was so well received it was then implemented in the Cath Lab.
Assisted and coordinated with Infection Control to bring about hospital-wide changes in behavior that helped to decrease rates of Central Line-Associated Bloodstream Infection. This included establishing a CLABSI committee, investigation into best practices and evidence based research, modifying physician’s orders, creating and presenting curriculum to hospital staff.

Primary role was to circulate all surgical cases including Urology, Ophthalmology, Trauma, Orthopedics, General, Da Vinci Surgical Robot, OB/GYN, Neurology, Oral, Plastic, Thoracic, Vascular, EENT, Endoscopic, Open Heart and Minimally Invasive.
Anesthesia Technician Coordinator:
Developed and modified processes to screen, interview, hire, train, and maintain the competency of anesthesia technicians. Assisted OR managers to determining appropriate staff mix, scheduling, resource allocations and managing personnel.
Created education curriculum to assist Anesthesia Technicians achieve national certification by developing quizzes, evaluation methods and study modules, presented in-services and produced video presentations, standardized education process with anesthesia providers and OR Education Coordinator to advance curriculum.
Communicated with anesthesia providers and principle managers to create and update policy and procedures for the Anesthesia Department. Evaluated products and equipment for effectiveness in the anesthesia/ OR environment. Promoted and improved patient service/ safety culture by problem solving physician/ technician/ OR manager complaints and grievances.

Baptist Leadership Group Volunteer:
Assisted the Baptist Leadership Group with the production, creation and presentation of the tri-yearly Leadership Forums to the Baptist Hospital leadership and management staff. These forums, based on the Studer Principles, focused on leadership development, coaching, training and communication. This shared organizational goals and values and provided a report card of current leadership accountability.
