Honors

10th Grade

Honor Roll is recognition and honor for students in Chester High School receiving a GPA greater than 3.5. In 10th grade 1st semester, I took the following courses: English II, Biology I, Physics, Chemistry II, Pre-Calculus, P.E., and U.S. History.

High Honor Roll is recognition and honor for students in Chester High School receiving a GPA of 4.0. In 10th grade 2nd semester, I took the following courses: English II, Biology I, Physics, Chemistry II, Pre-Calculus, Health, Energy Technology, and U.S. History. I received A's in all my classes.

11th Grade

In 11th grade 1st semester, I took the following courses in Northwest Missouri State University: Pre-Calculus, General Biology, General Biology Lab, General Chemistry I, General Chemistry I Lab, and Composition I.

President's Honor Roll is recognition and honor for students in Northwest Missouri State University receiving a GPA of 4.0. Awards

10th Grade

Americanism Essay Contest is an Essay Contest held by American Legion Auxiliary and co-sponsored by the American Legion Department of Illinois. The topic of the essay contest was "What does the first amendment mean to me." I wrote my opinion in the point of view of international student and won 2nd place in the city of Chester.

11th Grade

Great Plains Math League (GPML) Regional Competition: Throughout the year Missouri Academy Math Team members participate in regional competitions of the GPML. Missouri Academy students compete against teams from high schools in the Kansas City area. I won 1st place in the Relay and 3rd place in the Team Round, which allowed me to qualify to the GPML State Competition.

Great Plains Math League (GPML) Missouri State Competition: As being qualified to the state competition, I participated in GPML Missouri State Competition and placed 5th in individual testing, Target Round.

2. Co-Curricular and Extra-Curricular Activities

Missouri Academy Science Journal Club

11th and 12th grade

The Missouri Academy Science Journal serves as the source of scientific intelligence of the students of the Missouri Academy and some staff members of Northwest Missouri State University. As a president, I called meetings, writes journals, worked as final editor, and designed the magazines.

Northwest Missouri State University Student Senate

11th and 12th grade

Student Senate is the elected, representative governing body of the Student Government Association. It makes decisions for the SGA, and expresses the official opinion of the Northwest student body. As one of the senators, I represented the Missouri Academy of Science, Mathematics, and Computing.

Undergraduate Research

11th and 12th grade

I enrolled in undergraduate research in computational nanophysics with Dr. Himadi Chakraborty in Northwest Missouri State University. I studied and learned quantum physics and computer programming in FORTRAN.

Missouri Academy Tutor

12th grade

4hr/wk., 36wk/yr.

As a Missouri Academy tutor, I committed 4 hours each week to tutor other students in Science and Math courses; including Pre-Calculus, Calculus I, Calculus II, General Chemistry I and General Chemistry II. Tutor earns 1 hour of community service hour per each tutoring hour.

Community Leader 12th grade

5hr/wk., 39wk/yr.

Serving as a student mentor, Community Leader assists staffs in helping peers succeed both socially and academically. Also attend meetings and training.

Public Affairs Council 11th and 12th grade

1hr/wk., 34wk/yr.

Public Affairs Council assists the dean with publicizing the Missouri Academy not only domestically but also internationally.

Student Government Association

Student Government Association (SGA) is student governing body of Missouri Academy of Science, Mathematics, and Computing. As a student senate liaison, I relay the information discussed in Northwest Student Senate to the Missouri Academy SGA.

Throughout the year members of Missouri Academy Math Team participate Great Planes Math League. As a member, I participated in GPML and won in regional and state competition.
