Worked with a group of mainly pre-veterinary students from North Carolina State University, and local veterinarians to put on a three day spay/neuter clinic. Eighty cats and dogs were seen, Tasks during the clinic included pre-op physicals, placing catheters, intubating and anesthetizing the animals. Monitored the animals during surgery, while also getting the great opportunity to assist in surgery.

Experienced the cultural differences of care and values of animals in the community. Communicated affectively across a language barrier with the locals that brought the stray animals into our clinic.

Extramural Selective Experience- Veterinary Surgical Referral Practice December 2015Cary, NC

Shadowed surgeons at VSRP for a week. Learned and observed orthopedic, soft tissue and laparoscopic surgical procedures.

Research Experience

North Carolina State University College of Veterinary Medicine August 2013-May 2015Raleigh, NC

Researched with Dr. Marcellin-Little and some of his colleagues from the North Carolina State University College of Veterinary Medicine researched and identified some of the specific geometric abnormalities that lead to the buckling (collapse) of the forelimb in dogs with biapical antebrachial deformities. Future research involves building articulated replicas of a normal and an abnormal canine forelimb to find the specific degrees of angulation and torsion that lead to buckling.
