AWARDSNSCC International team members Zoran Kondali and Kellie McMullin were awarded the 2017 Canadian Bureau for International Education (CBIE) President’s Award for excellence in international education at the CBIE Conference in Halifax, Nova Scotia. The award cited their innovative work leveraging NSCC’s international technical assistance projects to create international experiential learning projects for students and faculty, contributing to NSCC’s commitment to learning abroad in academic, service, and community engagement.
At the CBIE conference in 2017 the City of Halifax presented NSCC International Director Katie Orr with the Halifax Ambassador Award for helping to bring the CBIE conference to Halifax.
In April 2018 NSCC President Don Bureaux and NSCC International Director Katie Orr were presented with the Colleges and Institutes Canada Silver Award in Internationalization Excellence. NSCC’s internationalization accomplishments were recognized across four categories:

• institutional partnerships,
• curriculum and programs.

In May 2018 NSCC Screen Arts grad Erica Meus-Saunders was a finalist for the GoAbroad.com innovative student video for her short film entitled “journey of feet” about her NSCC international experience in Tanzania.
