QUESTION 1: DO YOU READ MUSIC MAGAZINES REGULARLY?

After handing out my questionnaire I found out that 70% of the 10 people I asked read music magazines on a regular basis. The other 30% do not read them as regularly.

When I received my questionnaires back I found that each Masthead and Slogan received 20% of the 10 people which I gave my questionnaire to, so the results are equally split.

QUESTION 3: WHICH ARTISTS WOULD YOU LIKE TO SEE ON THE COVER OF A MAGAZINE?

For the result of this question I found that the majority of my target audience would like to see Ed Sheeran on the cover of a magazine as 60% chose him. The other artists received 10%. This tells me that the majority of my target audience prefer the music of Ed Sheeran

QUESTION 4: WHICH OF THE FOLLOWING WOULD YOU CONSIDER BEST FOR THE MAIN IMAGE?

I have found that 70% of the 10 people questioned would prefer a female artist on the cover of a Music magazine. 20% would prefer a male artist whilst 10% would prefer a male group.

QUESTION 5: HOW OFTEN DO YOU LISTEN TO R&B/POP MUSIC?

I found that 60% of my target audience listen to R&B/Pop music on a daily basis. The other 40% listen to R&B/Pop music on a weekly basis.

QUESTION 6: HOW OFTEN WOULD YOU BUY AN R&B/POP MAGAZINE

I have found that 60% of my target audience would rather buy a music magazine on a Monthly basis. The other 40% would rather purchase a R&B/Pop magazine on a weekly basis.

QUESTION 7: WHICH OF THE FOLLOWING WOULD YOU LIKE TO SEE ON THE CONTENTS PAGE?

For this question I asked my targeted audience to pick two out of the options given. I found that 30% would like to see a list of events on the contents page. I also found that 25% would like to see a list of top downloads. 15% would look for pictures and another 15% would look for reviews of albums and singles. 10% would want a writers pick of music whilst 5% would want a letter from the editor.

QUESTION 8: HOW MANY IMAGES WOULD YOU LIKE TO SEE ON THE CONTENTS PAGE?

For this question I found that 10% of my target audience would look for at least four pictures on a magazine contents page. The other 90% of my target audience would look for 3 pictures on a contents page.

QUESTION 9: WHAT TYPE OF ARTICLE WOULD YOU BE MOST INTERESTED IN?

An interview with a band/artistReview on an artist/bandReview of a CD/single

I found that 80% of my Target audience would prefer to read an interview with a band/artist. 10% would rather read a review of an artist or a band. The other 10% would like to read a review of a CD/single.

QUESTION 10: WHAT COLOUR SCHEME WOULD YOU LIKE FOR AN R&B/ POP MAGAZINE?

Red/White/Blue/BlackPurple/Blue/White/BlackPink/Purple/Orange/White

I found that 40% of my target audience liked the colour scheme red/white/blue/black. Another 40% of the people asked liked the colour scheme purple/blue/white/black. The final 20% like the colour scheme pink/purple/orange/white.

OVERALL…

From my questionnaires I have found that the majority of my audience read music magazines regularly. I also found that the vast majority of my audience would look for 3 pictures on a contents page. I also found two colour schemes which are favourable, and what sort of image for a cover most people would like. However, I have struggled to find a favourite with a Masthead and slogan so may seek further advice.

I have decided I will use a female artist on my cover and an interview with that artist for my article. I may combine the two most popular colour schemes and I will have a list of events on my contents page. I will also ensure that I have at least 3 pictures on my contents page.
