Yes No

From these result we I can see that 28 people of my targeted audience agreed that my storyline went well with the song. This is good as I one of my main aims was to create a relevant storyline to go along with the song. I feel I had achieved this as I had a high percentage of my targeted audience agreeing that it was relevant. However there was still need for improvement as 2 people of the targeted audience still felt that the storyline did not go well with the actual song. This may have been their own interpretations of the song.

Yes No

After asking whether they would watch it if it was to be shown on TV 21 people answered yes. This is good as it shows that I have managed to create my music video and still kept it targeted at the right audience. However 9 people said they would not watch it. This shows room for improvement. When asked why they said that there was a lot of repeated locations used which made the video a bit boring so to improve on the music video I would use more locations around the school and when Emily is at home to make the scenes more interesting.

On a scale of 1 – 10 did you see Emily as a typical artist of pop music?

Results for this question came back very mixed with most people scoring between 6 and 8. When asked why they said that she looked very pretty like most young singers and had the right look. However 3 people scored under 4 when asked why this was they answered that in other music videos they had watched such as Miley Cyrus and Demi Lovato they always looked really glamorous even if it was set in a school however Emily was only wearing casual clothes. To improve on this I would dress Emily in more glamorous clothing to suit the type of role model look that many younger girls look for. Looking at the results I think that I successfully represented Emily as an artist with the use of clothing and the way Emily showed her feeling when singing.

Yes No

I think that i successfully used the facilities that I had to make the storyline relevant and believable to the song. I had 26 people answer yes to this question. However there could still be improvements as 4 people answered no. When asked why this was they answered that some of the settings were not as nice as ones that they has seen in professional music videos such as Miley Cyrus’ to improve this I would have to change some of the locations that I used to make sure that they look modern as in most tween pop music videos modern locations are used.

Most people of my targeted audience targeted this question high. I had 9 people marking 8. This shows that I had chosen a good song to target at younger girls. This was one of the key features of making my video so that every member of my targeted audience could relate to the video in some way. This was successful as no-one had marked 1.

Did you think that the video had a wide range of camera angles and shots?

Most tween pop videos have over 50 different camera shots through-put the music video. This is to keep the video interesting and to make sure people don’t get bored. Each shot I used was shown for no longer than 8 seconds. The targeted audience could see this and everyone mark yes. This shows that I successfully used a wide range of shot and angles.

Do you think that the shots were synced with the music video? (e.g. lip syncing and cutting of the shots

etc)

Out of the 30 members of my sample audience 5 people said that the lip syncing and cutting of shots were not very good. This shows room for improvement and to go back again I would make sure that all the shots were lip synced properly and the transitions between slides were smooth.

On a scale of 1 – 10 How much does my music video follow typical conventions of other music videos of a similar genre

such as Miley Cyrus’ and Taylor swifts?

Most people mark 8 for this. This shows that I successfully followed typical conventions of many tween pop music videos. By following the typical conventions such as the type of actor I used for the artist and the song I chose I was able to target the right audience and make a music video similar to that if Miley Cyrus and Taylor Swift.
