Restriction of side parking is negatively affected to the country’s economy. Oppose

It is an obvious fact that the restricting side parking does not negatively affect to the country’s

economy. All of you may have experienced the bad effects of road side parking even the

members in our proposing team too. If you are in a hurry while driving, you will surely

understand how much it is uncomfortable this situation, the random/arbitrary (careless) side

 parking.

In peak hours like morning an afternoon mostly side parking is the cause for the traffic

conjestion. Mostly this can be experienced near the public places like schools and hospitals.

It is clear that because of side parking the roads can be partially blocked. So the speed of

vehicles can be decreased which causes the traffic jam . It is a waste of time and the fuel. In a

country, peoples’ time is money. So it is a waste of money. That means side parking is

negatively affected to the country’s economy. So the suitable restrictions must be taken to reduce

its bad effects to the economy.

Side parking spots can be used as effective solution to traffic jam by increasing no of lanes

If we consider about a commercial place such as supermarket, shop something like that, if there

are so many vehicles parked in front of that place all the time, the access to that place is

 blocked/covered. It also negatively affects to the business. That means to the economy. Because

of random side parking, lots of accesses are blocked.

Blocking of pedestrian crossing (pedestrians) have to face to the problems. The other thing is

vehicles parking on footpaths. If there is no marked or builded???? footpaths then parking along

the road is a annoying experience to the (pedestrians)

Sometimes you may have seen that the vehicles have parked side of the road in both directions in

 both sides of road. (write the rest)

A major source of annoyance comes when vehicles park at bus stops. Frequently this results in

the bus having to block the rest of the traffic flow, which means that all road users end up

suffering delay and frustration.

More side parking will lead to obstruction to walkability of pedestrians which lead to lack

of attention to buisness in that area

Road side parking may not be a big problem in rural areas, but in urban city areas it is a huge

 problem. In our country, random/arbitrary side parking all over the major cities has been

 becoming a burning problem, especially in Colombo. To prevent this situation the government is

taking so many actions such as making parking and strengthening relevant rules. If restrictions of

side paring negatively affect to the economy, there is no  point of doing such things. So I’m

asking from proposing team if the fact you are saying is true, why such situations occur?

So our point is restriction of side parking must be done, and doing so, it may be positively affect

to the country’s economy since  it makes cities and roads clear and user friendly. And if we

consider about our country it will help to reduce the sound pollution also.

We are not talking about the completely prohibition of side parking, but the restrictions must be

taken. If the roads are spacious, then it can be marked and allocated for side parking is ok. The

lows should be implemented to allocating suitable side parking and put restrictions for the time

allocation. In most countries there are some restriction rules and regulations which have

approved and they follow them as it does not negatively affect to the economy.

more parking regulations have to made, then traffic police have to pay attention to that

kind of incidents also. (but be aware of this point since proposing team can also counter

argue this point)

If side parking does not negatively affect to the country’s economy, why the government spend

this much huge amount of money to build parking places to prevent side parking??
