WHAT IS RESPONSIBLE BUSINESS?

Three different areas under one umbrella

Take the responsibility for the health and safety of our employees and guests.

Respect social and ethical issues in the company as well as in the community. This includes our cultural heritage.

Reduce our negative impact on the natural environment.

WHY PARNTER WITH UNESCO?

“We believe that restoring and raising awareness about the importance of our cultural heritage is an

important part of our Responsible Business programme. Each hotel can contribute by supporting

local restoration projects, but also by informing guests about heritage sites and how to be careful

and respectful when visiting them.”

Pia Heidenmark-Cook, Director Responsible Business

“Rezidor SAS is conscious of the need to safeguard sites linked to the environment and development.

Therefore we support the UNESCO’s “Memories Of the Future” project. Our donations will be used to help

bring magnificent monuments back to their original splendour for the delight of future visitors”.

Kurt Ritter, President and CEO, Rezidor SAS Hospitality

The Altar of the Qasr El Bint Temple

Petra, JordanThe Altar of the Qasr El Bint Temple, one of the three temples in the ancient city of Petra is registered on the World Heritage List. The temple “the Castle of the Pharaoh’s daughter” dates back to 30 AD.

It was deteriorating and disintegrating and thus in need of major repair. Our financial support resulted in the cleaning and disinfection of the stone and its consolidation, along with a drainage regulation and the reorganisation of the site. This project benefited from considerable national and international attention.

This was the first project that we adopted, in 1999. It is now completed.
